Decided on the name Jacob for our little boy due in 2 weeks time. Just need to decide on middle name. So.....

  1. Jacob Oscar
  2. Jacob Roscoe (Roscoe is a name loved by a close family member and feel its a lovely way to honour them rather than using their name)
  3. Something else - Please add suggestions if you choose this option!

Older brother is N O A H H A R R Y

Jacob Roscoe is a good choice.

AppleKatie · 27/12/2019 19:04

Jacob Oscar by a country mile for me.

Janaih · 27/12/2019 19:06

Both lovely. How do they sound with your surname though?

GlitteryGracie · 27/12/2019 19:11

Use Roscoe, it has a specific meaning to it.... middle names don't matter much so should be personal to you.

mumofboys7 · 27/12/2019 19:47

Surname begins to B.
They both sound okay I think.

You don't want his initials to be JOB so definitely Roscoe. And it's more personal and meaningful.

MillicentMartha · 27/12/2019 19:55

Jacob is lovely. Either middle name would be fine. Nice to have a reason for Roscoe though.

PlantPotting · 27/12/2019 20:18

Jacob is a gorgeous name- I love it

Either nickname works well.

Other ideas if you want them:

Eli
Ellis
Nathan
Sidney
Casper
Miles
Rafferty
Percy (wild card option!)

PlantPotting · 27/12/2019 20:18
  • Sorry I meant either middle name not nickname
BloodyCats · 27/12/2019 20:20

Jacob Elliot Surname is my favourite.

MopsRUs · 27/12/2019 20:42

I like Oscar but agree that JOB as surname isn't ideal.

Jacob Edwin
Jacob Daniel
Jacob Tobias
Jacob Henry
Jacob Matthew
Jacob Noah
Jacob Zachary
Jacob Theodore
Jacob Felix

LarkDescending · 27/12/2019 22:07

I’d go for Jacob Roscoe, given the family connection.

IceBearRocks · 27/12/2019 22:19

Jacob Luke ????

Grufallosfriends · 28/12/2019 09:46

Definitely the name with the most meaning!

Middle names are never used so they don't need to 'sound particularly nice. But your son will like the thought that went into choosing it.
I'd go for Roscoe!

mumofboys7 · 28/12/2019 10:16

One question do you think my older son would get upset, as neither of his names have specific meaning but his younger brothers would?

CatintheFireplace · 28/12/2019 17:46

I think it's fine.

Tessakate · 30/12/2019 16:56

I really like the name jacob Roscoe

FluffyEggsontoast · 30/12/2019 17:13

I agree, no I don’t think your other son will be bothered

diddlediddle · 30/12/2019 21:23

Roscoe definitely

Your older son won't mind. He got the two names you liked best!
