Lola - La La La Laaa Lola

BreatheAndFocus · 27/12/2019 14:51

I think they’re all ok apart from:

Blair - awful, for all the reasons given above
Silver - “Hi Ho, Silver”, a horse’s name (The Lone Ranger)

Coco - I’m not so keen on this but dont dislike it. Just thinking of the potential for silly nicknames.

My favourites are Polly, Isla, Olivia and Indigo.

Indigo (NN- Indie) - Nice
Blair - Harsh sounding. Sounds like you're being sick or playing Mallet's Mallet. Blair Witch.
Willa - Willy. She'd get her head kicked in at some secondary schools with a name like that.
Coco - New money. Thick. Trying to hard.
Silver - Kind of like it.
India - Nice.
Lola - Porn star.
Isla - Open to mispronunciation. Looks ugly written down.
Olivia - Nice.
Olive - Oil. Black bullets that taste nasty.
Polly - Nice.

My first reaction to Blair was that you'd got it from Gossip Girl and many of these names seem a bit Sleb Inspired and will date

Absolute no to Lola, Coco, Indigo and Silver all of which sound like strippers

Willa Cather is a great writer so Willa

Indigo (NN- Indie) lovely
Blair I think of witch not Tony
Willa No! But love Willow
Coco more of a nn
Silver agree with others Sylvia or sylvie are much nicer
India ok
Lola I like it
Isla lovely but popular
Olivia ok but popular
Olive not for me
Polly I like it!

FatherRabulaConundrum · 27/12/2019 17:00

Blair always sounds like 'blare' to me - blaring trumpets, blaring out, etc. It's not a nice word, even without the PM/Witch Project connotations.

Coco, Silver, Indigo, Lola and India sound like lapdancer madeupnames or cockerpoos.

Olivia & Isla are pretty and classic but very popular right now, if that kind of thing bothers you.

Polly or Willa (if she doesn't mind saying, 'No, not Willow, Willa' for 15 years) are the best of the bunch.

What about Molly or Susannah?

RandDandC · 27/12/2019 17:25

My favourites are Blair and Willa
