Where do you stand on unusual baby names? My name is Corbett. And whilst I don't mind mainly there is a few issues. I could never get anything with my name on.

Depends on what the name is.
While your name is unusual, in my opinion it's not strange, does that make sense? So I'm sure you don't feel embarrassed when you say it. I recently heard the name Willa which I thought was truly awful

I love unusual names as I often find there’s more of a story behind the choice, maybe a sentimental place or distant ancestor rather than just a name the parents liked the sound of.

My name is a double barrel (Quindarius-Gooch) and I have a fairly standard Bengali surname, but my youngest 2 year old DS is called Allamalad, and he is annoyed at the normality of my 19 year old DD’s name, which is Bira

I love unusual names.
My dc i would say have unusal names bar one which was at the time but has became more common place. They all like their names too.

Depends. Some only sound unusual until you hear the reason behind it. Others are just pure tacky and make me want to smack the jackass parents.

Given that names are mainly given to identify people, unusual is generally a good thing!

Better than being referred to as Jack A, Jack B etc

I like names for how they sound rather that if they are very common or unusual. For example I love the names Oliver and Isla but equally love Otis and Ida. I guess I do lean towards liking slightly more unusual ones especially if they have lovely meaning or are attached to different cultures.

On your second point, there were never any things with my name on as a kid but it didn't bother me and these days it's quick and simple to get things personalised anyway.

I like my name. I was named as my mum is a massive Sooty fan. I don't mind having an unusual name. I'll have to look online for things personalised.
