Any thoughts on Romy (Ro-me) for a girl, I heard it being used once and I quite liked it.

I love It. We have a Romy in the family. I think it's the perfect combo of being easy to spell and pronounce, not ridiculous yet slightly unusual. She is called Romy Wren.

theruffles · 23/12/2019 10:38

I like Romy - it's not too unusual but you also won't hear it in every classroom.

OneKeyAtATime · 23/12/2019 10:46

Really dislike it. Sorry

MyNewBearTotoro · 23/12/2019 10:48

I love it.

The one I know has Romany as her full name.

allthegoodusernameshavegone · 23/12/2019 10:49

Gorgeous name

Astronica · 23/12/2019 11:03

I like it. I also like it as a short form for Ramona or Romilly.

LTEMercedes · 23/12/2019 15:04

I really like Romy! Very classy name

Christmasbiscuits · 23/12/2019 16:51

haverhill · 23/12/2019 16:52

MotherOfSoupDragons · 23/12/2019 16:54

Beautiful.

RuthW · 23/12/2019 17:32

I always thought it was pronounced Rome-me so be prepared for mix ups.

RuthW · 23/12/2019 17:33

I mean Rom - me!

humbleworded · 23/12/2019 17:36

I teach a Roma. She really suits it!

DramaAlpaca · 23/12/2019 17:37

I like it as a diminutive of Rosemary.

SayNoToCarrots · 23/12/2019 17:42

I used to know a Romy. We constantly quoted Romy and Michelle's high school reunion at her, because we were "hilarious". I suppose your daughter's friends probably won't have seen that movie.

reindeer878 · 23/12/2019 17:45

Very weird

EoinMcLovesCakeJumper · 23/12/2019 19:31

I thought it was Roe-Mee? I really like Romilly and Romola, both of which could be shortened to Romy.

MikeUniformMike · 23/12/2019 19:34

Roamy?
Ok as nn for Ramona maybe

BigusBumus · 23/12/2019 20:01

Just makes me thing if travellers

IckleBear · 26/12/2019 11:54

In Germany they'd pronounce it like Rom-me? With the R rolled.. otherwise I'd think it's pronounced Roe-me

Hoppinggreen · 26/12/2019 11:55

I know one, half English but lives in another EU country
They pronounce It Rom - ee though (rhymes with Tommy)

NorthernLightsInWinter · 26/12/2019 12:25

I like it, I think it's pretty.

Yellow1c · 26/12/2019 16:41

I like Romy. I teach a girl whose name is Romily and I love it - also I was going to be called 'Romaine which is quite nice too in a slightly lettuce-y sort of way.

Lindy2 · 26/12/2019 16:46

I know a Romy. It is pronounced Rom ee.
I like it.

LauraPalmersBodybag · 26/12/2019 16:52

Love it. I have a 2 month old DS, he would have been Romy had he been a girl.
