I love Violet, but I don’t like the way it sounds when the T is dropped - Viol-ler- and where we live that’s how it would be said.

I love both, really 🙂

I really like both so could go either way on this one. If one sounds better with the surname then go that way. Violet just has the edge I think.

zen1 · 22/12/2019 02:33

Violet sounds cooler, but Phoebe is a pretty name too. I’d go for Violet personally, as a know quite a few DC called Phoebe.

Emmmie · 22/12/2019 02:36

Violet has a lovely meaning, but “Violet” is sooooo close to “Violent”!

Poorolddaddypig · 22/12/2019 05:55

Love violet! Phoebe is fine. But phoebe violet sounds good

Mamabear88 · 22/12/2019 12:01

Both nice but prefer Phoebe. Agree Phoebe Violet is lovely.

MerryGrinch · 22/12/2019 12:12

I love both. I'd just see what she looks like when born.

Violet

Don't like how Phoebe looks written.

StanleyWalkersThirdWife · 23/12/2019 23:24

Phoebe!

Violet is lovely written down but round where I live it sounds pretty horrible due to accent (I'm in the north west)

averythinline · 23/12/2019 23:26

both good names - think I would have gone for Violet as there was a very cool little Vi in Dc playgroup
I would wait til she's born... we had 2 names for dc but only 1 suited when he arrived....
