Help us decide on a name!

Baby boy is a week old and we are struggling to decide. We have narrowed it down to either Max or Alexander and our older daughter is called Clementine. Which do you like better/think goes best with Clementine?

Middle name will likely be David but I am not sold on Max David.

Alexander, nice for them both to have long games with different nick name possibilities. Plus it goes better with David

I agree with everyone else - Alexander goes best with both David and Clementine. Plus I just love the name!!

How about Maximilian with Max for short? I also like Alexander. Congrats!

Both Max and Alexander are great names and both sound good for Clementine's brother. Alexander has the edge being a longer name like Clementine and sounding better with David.
Another option is to go for a longer Max name eg Maximillian David, Maxim, Maxwell or Maximus, but used Max as the everyday name.

Both Max and Alexander are gorgeous names
Love the name Clementine too. You have great taste and I think either name would work. Slight preference for Max

Alexander is nicer, goes better with David and more in line with Clementine

Plenty of scope for shortening too

He can be Ally, Alex, Xander... and it's a great name.

Prefer Max but think Alexander goes better with Clementine. If it was Maxwell or another longer version of Max (with Max as a diminutive) then I would pick that.

Thank you all for your opinions. The real trouble is i prefer Alex and he prefers Max. DP has suggested Maxwell David but I'm not sure about the longer name just for the sake of it and it seems a big name for a little baby whereas Alexander David seems more right to me. So bloody hard!
