George and Edith/Matilda?

I have three girls, Grace, Alice and Amber. Ages 9, 7 and 5. Pregnant with twins. I'm wondering which sounds nicer, George and Edith (Edie) or George and Edith. Also now thinking about the name Theodore or Edward because of the nn Teddy, which I have suddenly began to adore.

Didn’t you already post another thread?

Sorry really hate Edith. So old lady. And I hate edie even more. Much prefer Matilda.

You can’t go wrong with George or Theodore. Think I slightly prefer Theodore.

George and Matilda would be Roald Dahl, Georges marvellous medicine and Matilda (obvs), which is nice.

aapsiat · 12/12/2019 20:56

Yes, I posted another thread. I decided that Matilda was the most popular and Edith was too, so I wanted to see between the two separately.

I really dislike Edith. Matilda is nice.

HappyDinosaur · 12/12/2019 22:32

I love Edith and like Tilly, but really dislike Matilda.

Lonelykettleshed · 12/12/2019 22:36

George and Mildred? Sorry, can't get past the 70s (?) sitcom.

bridgetreilly · 12/12/2019 22:56

I like Edith better than Matilda, and Edie is sweet.

orangeblosssom · 13/12/2019 05:41

Sorry, but all 3 names remind me of the early 1900's.

123Dancewithme · 13/12/2019 11:02

George and Matilda or Edward and Matilda

Ellmau · 13/12/2019 14:30

What about Theodora for the girl?

RhymingRabbit3 · 13/12/2019 14:31

They're all lovely. Edward and Matilda would be Teddy and Tilly which is a bit matchy matchy for me. I would probably go for Edie and George.

Astronica · 14/12/2019 02:58

All are really good. Both George and Edith/Edie and George and Matilda are lovely and work really well with the sisters. I'd probably edge towards the lovely Edith/Edie because it is less used than Matilda and is shorter like your other girls' names.

Astronica · 14/12/2019 03:01

And both Theodore and Edward with nn Teddy are gorgeous as well. Neither of these 2 work so well with Edith, so if you love Edith most I'd use George, but if you choose Matilda then either Theodore or Edward would work. And if it's 2 girls Edith and Matilda is lovely.

OwlBeThere · 14/12/2019 05:41

Not a fan of George personally. I prefer Edie to Matilda, but prefer Tilly to Edith lol.

EleanorShellstrop100 · 14/12/2019 12:02

Love Edith

MrsNoMopp · 14/12/2019 14:08

George and Edith, or how about Elsie?

gumpforestgump · 14/12/2019 14:20

I’m sorry, I really dislike Edith I’m afraid. I think your daughter would feel she was given a horrible name in comparison to your other 3 daughters. George is an awesome name though!

I like Matilda, what about any of these? Though I’m sure you’ve looked at every name under the sun!

Mathilde
Florence
Rose
Amirah
Megan
Mia
Daisy
Georgina (if you want with Edward / Teddy for boy)
Charlotta
Louisa
Sophie / Sophia
Genevieve

I really like Edith, and Edie is cute. Matilda is firb but I know loads of them under 6 so that would put me off.

ladycarlotta · 15/12/2019 00:18

Edith is a gorgeous name. I see a lot of Matildas lately - it's lovely but maybe getting a bit trendy?

I'd go George and Edith, you wouldn't want to end up with Eddie and Edie down the line.

PlantPotting · 15/12/2019 06:14

Love the names Edith and Matilda

George is one of my favourite boy names.

ThisLittlePiggyWentTo · 15/12/2019 08:06

Love George and Edith. Unsure if it changes your mind but Teddy is absolutely rife, you cant move for multiple Teddys.
