Hubs and I love the name Anastasia and would love to use it. There's a lot of family meaning behind the name and it sounds great with our last name.

I like the nn Tas but he's not on board. Any other cute nicknames out there besides Annie (I really dislike Annie as a nn)

Stacey
Ana

The Grand Duchess Anastasia was known as Nastya, and the Anastasia I knew at school was known as :Stacia pronounced ‘Star-shah’

Toomanygerbils · 09/12/2019 04:42

Most are over used, Tana would be my choice

Thetimetravelerswife · 09/12/2019 05:18

Ana
Stacey
Sia
Si si
Anna

My dc have nicknames that aren't diminutives of their actual names (though ds2 is called by a version of his name's meaning), would that be an option?

We did call ds1 a shortened version of his name for a while, but he himself opted for a different shortening.

Tas less common than Ana/Annie, but reminds me of the Looney Tunes cartoon Blush

Grufallosfriends · 09/12/2019 06:10

I know one who is always known as Anastasia.

MrsNoMopp · 09/12/2019 07:55

Nia
Anna
Asta

Anna is nice and classic

shiveringsparklingtimber · 09/12/2019 10:06

Hubs?

hannahfaith · 09/12/2019 15:42

@shiveringsparklingtimber Hubs is just what I call my husband in the states it's an abbreviation of Husband - I haven't yet figured out the acronyms on this app so I just use what I know.

Stasia
Tasia
Sia

I know an Anastasia with the nn Sta (pronounced star).

TatianaLarina · 09/12/2019 16:35

The Grand Duchess Anastasia was known as Nastya,

Nastya is a standard dim in Russia and E.Europe but obviously nasty has unpleasant connotations in English.

Constantlurker · 09/12/2019 16:39

I know a truly fabulous Anastasia, we call her stasie (pronounced Stay-zee). Lovely name!

Collision · 09/12/2019 16:41

I would probably call her Tayzee......but not spell it like that.

saturnnc · 09/12/2019 16:47

The most common I've heard is stassie

See Instagram of @stassiebaby

Astronica · 11/12/2019 07:00

Taisy and Tansy are my favourites. I do like Tas though, and I would also happily use Tess for Anastasia.

sawyersfishbiscuits · 11/12/2019 08:13

Tasie is a nickname I've heard used. I think it's really nice.

misssandraboomer60 · 11/12/2019 22:16

Stassi?

Ilikekids · 12/12/2019 06:10

Please don’t name your child this. With this day and age they WILL get bullied. Just give them a normal name like aria or Alison

EleanorShellstrop100 · 12/12/2019 07:08

Why on earth would a child be bullied for being called Anastasia? Bizarre post.

BelfastNonBlonde · 12/12/2019 07:13

I don’t like any of the nns. Just call her Anastasia.
It’s a beautiful name. Why doesn’t it have to be shortened?

If you have to just call her “A”.. Then her name will always be Anastasia and not a second rate nickname.

Lllot5 · 12/12/2019 07:18

I not convinced you can decide on nick names. You can call her what you choose obviously, but others will think of something else. Maybe not even relating to her name. I’d tell you my kids nicknames but it’d be too outing they are not related to their names tho.

Spinderellacutituponetime · 12/12/2019 07:21

I knew a Tasey, short for Anastasia.

Lavenderblues · 12/12/2019 08:05

Actually I have to agree that none of the suggested nicknames (Stacey, Tacey,, Tasey etc) sound very nice and certainly nearly as nice as Anastasia.

Call her Anastasia!

Lavenderblues · 12/12/2019 08:05

Sorry, not nearly
