Just that really. I always loved the name Noah but it seems its quite popular. Now I'm thinking 'Mylo'?

Why not Milo?

MikeUniformMike · 06/12/2019 15:09

Is Mile-o or Meelo? Isn't it spelt Milo?

LarkDescending · 06/12/2019 15:13

I prefer Milo, and like it better than the ubiquitous Noah.

Personally I am reminded of the malty milk drink of my (overseas) childhood, but that needn't bother you!

OverthinkingThis · 06/12/2019 15:22

Noah is crazy popular round my way - agree Milo is nicer (not with a y though)

LochJessMonster · 06/12/2019 15:54

Pronounced Milo, just saw the spelling Mylo somewhere and thought it was nice.
But I guess I don't want him to have to constantly correct the spelling of his name.

Boys names are hard, I have such a long list of girls name but was set on Noah for years until it became so common.

We have a Myles in the family.

CloudyVanilla · 06/12/2019 16:09

I think it's lovely!!

MrsJoshNavidi · 06/12/2019 16:23

Milo - yes
Mylo - no. Not least because autocorrect changes it to nylon.

jamburglar · 06/12/2019 16:27

Spelling it with a Y makes me think of medical terminology, for some reason. Eg myelopathy, myeloma.... I know its not spelled the same but that's where my brain went when I saw "mylo".

Milo isn't to my personal taste, but is the better of the two imo.

ByAppointmentTo · 06/12/2019 16:33

I like both names. I know three Milos but only one Noah.

Leopardprintboots · 06/12/2019 16:43

Mylo/Milo/Miles are all just gorgeous names I really love it- one of my absolute favourites

love Noah too though @LochJessMonster - do you have any others on your shortlist?

TatianaLarina · 06/12/2019 17:35

I like it pronounced I but not EE.

DramaAlpaca · 06/12/2019 17:39

Milo or Myles/Miles. Not Mylo.

xmaself24 · 06/12/2019 17:46

I know a lot of dogs called Milo

EL8888 · 06/12/2019 17:51

Cute. But like others have said, l prefer the spelling of Milo. Boys names are hard.

LochJessMonster · 06/12/2019 19:30

No other boy names! I like biblical names (hence Noah) if anyone has any other suggestions.
Not keen on names like Teddy/Buddy etc

I have a definitely girls name, but a bit worried that MN will ruin it for me Grin

I have a three year old DD. We know three Milos but no Noahs...

LochJessMonster · 06/12/2019 19:34

@geeraf what!? I thought Noah was really popular at the moment.

Perhaps I can put it back on the list (which makes the list a whopping 2 names long Grin)

Years ago, there was a baby name article about trends, and one name had the Micky ripped out of it... yes, it was Mylo.

bsc · 06/12/2019 19:41

Sorry- in the Times!

FredaFrogspawn · 06/12/2019 19:42

One of the nicest boys I have ever taught is a Milo. So I’ll always love that name.

Leopardprintboots · 06/12/2019 19:43

If you like Milo how about Hugo or Otto

Themazeoflife · 06/12/2019 19:44

How about Toby

tinytemper66 · 06/12/2019 19:45

Like Milo but not Mylo.

Leopardprintboots · 06/12/2019 19:45

Noah is popular yes but it’s not like many years ago when “popular” meant that 1 in every 5 men were called John. There’s no Noah’s at my sons school. You will come across others though I’m sure, depends if it bothers you
