We like less common but legitimate names (our girls names list is huge!).....as a teacher I do find it hard to not discount all names as "x" childs name

After a shortish name as we have a long surname

Girls style is

  • Iona
  • Clara
  • Chloe
  • Nyah

All ideas welcome

Your list of names is really good and I think any would be lovely for all phases of life: baby, toddler, child, teen, adult. It's lucky you dont know any horrible little monsters with those names!

Is it poss to also suggest:
Montgomery or Monty
Gilbert
Dicken

I do work with a Finn and a Theo but they're lovely (albeit a bit cheeky) so am aware they're common names but i love the names enough to ignore that for now. Same with Noah

@hepsibar DP works in a role where names could be X bad person which I'm sure will reduce our list dramatically (yet to let him scrutinise the list)

@Bibbidybobbitysplated

Great list:

Finn - nice name! To make it slightly more unusual you could pick Flynn

Rohan - this is the spelling commonly used by Indian communities so I would assume the child was Indian. It’s also a unisex name if that troubles you, I know girls with it. Also the name Roman (with an M) was fastest rising boys name in top 100 last year and will be top 20 in next couple of years on current trajectory. I work in paediatrics with newborns and there’s been an influx of newborn Roman’s this year (which can only increase next year after Roman Kemp in I’m a celebrity and Roman Roy in popularity TV show Succession). The little girls and boys called Rowan/Rohan often get misheard and it’s assumed by staff to just be another Roman.

Kian - nice name. A member of west life?

Ethan - lovely name- a classic

Lucas lovely solid name

Luca

Leo great name

Wilf - adore this one - Favourite

Seth - adore this one - joint favourite

Jamie - adore this one - joint favourite

Jude - quite like it but apparently has some historical negative connotations for Jews? Maybe someone Jewish can clarify as I can’t remember now. I think the work Jude actually means “Jew” in some languages.

Isaac - classic love it

Theo - classic love it can’t go wrong

You seem to like quite classic names. How about Nathan/ Nate?

For our first DD my husband and I scoured websites, books etc and made a list each. We went on holiday. Sat together and went over them. Only one name was on both lists so that was it 😁. Second DD husband suggested the same. I'd just watched Ladyhawk and said I like the name Isabeau. Bang and it was done. Sometimes you just need to watch a classic movie 😁. Good luck OP. I'm sure whatever you choose it'll be perfect. Fyi -Ladyhawks love? His name was Etienne.
