I love both but obviously using one will rule out the other.

Definitely Nina!!
Mina (meaner) sounds harsh

MissHenty · 29/11/2019 19:48

Nina! For defs!

hayley013 · 29/11/2019 19:51

I love Mina!

viques · 29/11/2019 19:56

You might as well settle on Nina, which is a lovely name anyway, because if you go for Mina lots of people will mishear, misspell it as Nina.

You could split the difference and call her Ina.........

Thetimetravelerswife · 29/11/2019 19:56

Nina for me.

But prefer it as a nickname for Antonina/Antonia etc

Inthemoment38 · 29/11/2019 19:59

Mina is the name of one of the other vampires in Dracula

misspiggy19 · 29/11/2019 20:01

Nina.

Mina is harsh sounding.

Omashu · 29/11/2019 20:02

I also just think of the word meaner. It’s a nice name otherwise but I think this ruins it. It’s like the name/s Fia, Fiadh, Phia etc.. it sounds like fear. It looks like a nice name but that ruins it.

TenThousandSpoons · 29/11/2019 20:03

I prefer Nina.

Is Mina pronounced “meaner”? If it’s a short i sound the spelling Minna would be clearer.

17caterpillars1mouse · 29/11/2019 20:18

I love Mina. I knew a lovely Meena a few years ago.

Nina is OK but I've met a few and they have all been rather bitchy tbh so that has put me off

diddlediddle · 29/11/2019 20:37

Nina is a beautiful name.

Mina makes me think of Minnie as slang for vagina 😬 sorry! Although I wouldn't think that if the child was of Indian background actually.

So, maybe it depends on your family background.

MarkingTimeIm59 · 29/11/2019 20:39

Nina
No question.

MrsNoMopp · 29/11/2019 20:43

I prefer Nina.

Lena is a similar name, also nice.

MissHenty · 29/11/2019 20:45

Yeah good point above Mina will constantly be misheard and called Nina anyway.

Nina is much nicer

VenusClapTrap · 29/11/2019 21:37

Mina.

DramaAlpaca · 29/11/2019 21:39

Nina. It's less whiny than Mina.

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 29/11/2019 21:40

Can I be awkward and mention how much I like Lina......

ByAppointmentTo · 29/11/2019 21:43

I actually know twins called Meena and Neena so using one doesn't have to rule out the other!

LynetteScavo · 29/11/2019 22:00

Nina.

Definitely.

charliesp · 29/11/2019 22:02

Nina!

Mina is awful, sorry.

MrsBertBibby · 29/11/2019 22:12

Nina, without question.
