Hiya,

I love the name Lenore (big Poe fan) but will everyone just think the fabric softener? Would Lenora be better?

I love Lenore and have thought about it a few times this week, weirdly! Dislike Lenora. They'll think fabric softener for 2 seconds then get over it.

TheLovleyChebbyMcGee · 28/11/2019 23:11

I first thought of the raven over the fabric conditioner, I'd go for it!

SlightlyBonkersQFA · 28/11/2019 23:12

Prefer Lenore

Flora and Stella aren't ruined. Nor is Clio, or Zoe.

Bigearringsbigsmile · 28/11/2019 23:13

Fabric softener

Wheresthebiffer2 · 28/11/2019 23:15

Leonora ? better?

Mooncake2020 · 28/11/2019 23:15

I've been listening to the raven a lot lately and it's so beautiful when you hear Lenore 😊 it's also a bit of a weird one I guess as i doubt kids themselves will think of fabric softener, so doubt there will be teasing? Would just be with parents that they think of fabric softener 🤔

i think Lenora is lovely! Very unusual but Lenore is nice too x

BonBon411 · 28/11/2019 23:29

I like Lenora better but they are both lovely.

ElluesPichulobu · 28/11/2019 23:33

definitely fabric softener

DramaAlpaca · 28/11/2019 23:44

I prefer Leonor or Leonora.

Strokethefurrywall · 29/11/2019 00:01

My mums name is Lenore, it's beautiful and I would have pushed hard for it had I had a DD.
Her nickname is Leni which I also love.

Definitely Lenore! 😍

RainbowMum11 · 29/11/2019 00:07

Eleanor has been linked with Lenor - iME kids will find a link with anything so as long as it isn't something too obviously rude, pick the name you prefer.

Zampa · 29/11/2019 00:12

I have a Leonore so obviously love the name and its variants. Choose the version you love the most.

Thetimetravelerswife · 29/11/2019 08:19

I like Lenora over Lenore. Lenore makes me think of the fabric softener whilst Lenora makes me think of the princess of Spain

Mooncake2020 · 29/11/2019 17:15

Thanks everyone! Some great feedback 😊 xx

Fabric softener.

Mooncake2020 · 29/11/2019 21:08

@Strokethefurrywall Has your mum ever gotten any comments on it? Xx

dementedma · 29/11/2019 21:13

How about Leona?

PetraRabbit · 29/11/2019 22:32

Leonor- it's a Spanish royal name and beautifully elegant, much better than either of your original suggestions. Pronounced closer to Lay-o-nor. There's another thread atm which mentions it.

Strokethefurrywall · 29/11/2019 22:41

Other than "what a beautiful name" no 😁
But we used to have jokes from school mates like "does she live life in comfort?" but that really was the only "joke" about it.

And honestly, I'd be surprised if anyone came out with such a lame retort these days (unless comfort is still a leading fabric softener in the UK?)

Strokethefurrywall · 29/11/2019 22:42

Also my mum was a model and absolutely stunning so nobody ever teased her!

SilverySurfer · 30/11/2019 14:44

Lenore is horribly pongy fabric softener but Lenora is nice.

confusedyoungthing · 30/11/2019 18:31

Leonore is lovely! I actually like both of these. I don't think of the fabric softener.
