I have a friend who's having a child she wants to use these names for all future kids.

Juniper

Juniper: nice.
Edward: it's OK.
Monroe (girl): not for me.
Luther: it sounds ugly in my personal opinion. Does she like the association with Martin Luther or Martin Luther King?
Margot: lovely. It's a gorgeous name.
Ophelia: it's pretty but a bit wet imo.

Juniper - a bit novelty, gin trend will pass
Edward - great
Monroe (girl) - oh dear me no
Luther- vandross?
Margot - Maggot
Ophelia - Tits

Love all the names apart from Luther and Monroe which are ridiculous in my view and I hate (sorry!)

ElvenMoonwings · 27/11/2019 21:17

Juniper - sorry does nothing for me.
Edward - very dull
Monroe - definite dislike. Reminds me of Marilyn Monroe and she's not my cup of tea, especially for a daughter role model, and I don't like that I don't know what it means and the fact it's a surnane makes it seem unfeminine and too current-ttendy.
Luther - doesn't do anything for me.
Margot - it doesn't get there as being especially feminine, too nicknamey but not in s fresh, girlie way - yes dislike.
Ophelia - best of the bunch. Feminine image, feminine sound, quite trad instead of just trendy and is it rather rare. Not bad. But I wouldn't use it personally.

Juniper - 'did you nip her'
Edward - lovely
Monroe (girl) - too much a surname (plus homophone for bagging a Munro)
Luther - Idris fan?
Margot - lovely
Ophelia - maybe, as long as her surname isn't something like Cox

Thetimetravelerswife · 27/11/2019 21:29

Juniper - dislike . Makes me think of Jupiter
Edward - I like
Monroe (girl)- dislike
Luther - dislike
Margot - like but of the moment
Ophelia - like but a bit pretentious

IckleBear · 29/11/2019 09:45

I like Juniper

EleanorShellstrop100 · 29/11/2019 12:04

LOVE Juniper and Margot. Like Ophelia and Edward. Dislike Luther and Monroe.

Practicalmagico · 29/11/2019 15:51

I only like Margot and Edward

MrsNoMopp · 29/11/2019 20:47

Juniper - I like nature names but the "nipper" sound puts me off
Edward - nice, a classic and historic name
Monroe (girl) - too surnamey, I don't like it as a first name
Luther - villain Lex Luther
Margot - faddy, pretentious and harsh
Ophelia - OK but would avoid due to rude joke potential

VenusClapTrap · 29/11/2019 21:39

Monroe is really bad.
