Name for Baby No 7

NI2020 · 26/11/2019 16:18

Ok looking for a name for our baby girl, child no 7.

We have: Ewan, Eilidh (Scottish Gaelic - pronounced Ailie), Peter (after his dad), Cait (pronounced Cate just spelt a little different), Harry and Robbie

Husband is Scottish so started off quite Scottish but it got more difficult!

Look for something nice, not to ordinary but not too different. I like Emma or Erin but husband not so keen. Had suggested Cameron for a girl but kids not keen!

Any suggestions that you think go?

Lovely names but Cameron is a boys name typically I think?

How about:

Eliza (instead of Erin)
Roxanne/Roxanna
Edith (Edie)
Margaret (Maggie)
Clementine (Clemmie)
Ottilie (Ottie)
Delilah
Emmy (twist on Emma)
Imogen
Willa

Cara
Isla
Zoe

OP Your boys' names are traditional (and nice). For female equivalents, these Scottish names are similarly classic:

Kirsty/Ciorstag/Cairistiona/Crisoaidh
Elspeth/Ealasaid
Isobel/Ishbel/Iseabail
Mairi (NOT Mhairi - that's the vocative form, as I'm sure you know, used when talking to someone)
Mairead
Seonaid
Sile
Ailis
Shona
Rhona
Floraidh

Thanks for suggestions -really like Cara, Zoe, Emmy - love Kirsty as well and all the variants but not possible as close family name. Like Isla too but think it is probably just a bit too similar to Eilidh.

Just in case it wasn't clear - Ewan, Eilidh (Scottish Gaelic - pronounced Ailie), Peter (after his dad), Cait (pronounced Cate just spelt a little different), Harry and Robbie - are our current children Smile.
