I like both of those names but not certain they work all that well together for some reason.

I agree with pp. I like both, but not together.

DramaAlpaca · 24/11/2019 02:18

They are a very different style, so I wouldn't say they 'go' together.

I'd choose Niamh first, mainly because I love it but also because I really dislike Margot.

Staffori · 24/11/2019 02:34

Tbh, no. They don't go together because Niamh is distinctly Irish and Margot is French. Also because Niamh is lovely and Margot is...kind of old-fashioned to my mind.

Thetimetravelerswife · 24/11/2019 04:29

Margot is nicer as a first name though

Agree with those above. They don't go together.

Thanks for your help!

Margot fits better with our daughter’s names (Violet and Florence) We would use Niamh as a middle name. Violet has Cara and Florence has Bríd for middles so Niamh would fit nicely in that spot. It would either be Margot for the first name or both used in either order as two middle names.

We’re not having another baby anytime soon though so it doesn’t really matter lol. A friend said she’d imagine me having all girls and it got my mind wondering lol. I love the idea of Margot, Mabel and Esmée with V and F but Niamh is one of my all time favourite names.
