I know they're all very common so no one needs to point that out Grin

What's your favourite out of the girls and boys list? Obviously if you think they're all awful then just ignore this thread Wink

Girls:
Isla
Aria
Isabella
Mya

Boys:
Theo
Albie
Oliver
Teddy

Isabella
Oliver

PsychosonicCindy · 16/11/2019 21:51

I like Isla & Isabella.
Not that keen on the boys names but if you twisted my arm...Theo. And if you use Theodore then Teddy is the nn.

Chlosavxox · 16/11/2019 21:51

@PsychosonicCindy that's my thought! My boyfriend loves Theodore and I love Teddy so I think that'll be our compromise if we have a boy Grin

Fab, sorted then! 😂

bridgetreilly · 16/11/2019 22:21

Theodore is good because you can have Teddy when he's little, but he might prefer Theo when he's older.

For your girls names, I prefer Isabella then Isla. Though I prefer Isabel to Isabella, tbh.

romylee · 16/11/2019 22:37

Aria and Theo are my faves! I used to love Isabella but the popularity did ruin it for me 🤣

DramaAlpaca · 16/11/2019 22:39

Isabella & Oliver.

MrsNoMopp · 16/11/2019 23:30

Isabella
Theodore

NoSauce · 17/11/2019 01:52

Aria is naff and will date.

Isabella, although popular is beautiful. I would choose that or Oliver.

SingingSea · 17/11/2019 01:58

Isla and Isabella

Theo

I don’t like Teddy, but you could have it as a nn of Theodore.

diddlediddle · 17/11/2019 02:39

Theodore - as pps have said it gives you /your child the option of nicknames Theo or Teddy. Nice to have a longer name on the birth certificate.

Oliver is also nice, classic.

Albie is a cutesie nickname for a baby but not a proper name for a grown man imo. Albert is fine.

Of the girls list I like Isla the best, yes it is popular but it is also very pretty and chic. Followed by Mya, which I don't think is as popular now.

Isabella is just too too ubiquitous for me, and a bit frilly and wishywashy.

Aria is a bit naff and of the moment.

Astronica · 17/11/2019 03:11

Isabella and Theodore.

dontlickthelamp · 17/11/2019 04:06

Isla snd Oliver

custardbear · 17/11/2019 06:01

Isabella and Oliver from me

FriedasCarLoad · 17/11/2019 06:59

Isla and Isabella are lovely. Not keen on the other two.

Oliver’s very nice. Love the other boy’s names as nicknames, with the longer name being the proper one, ie Theodore, Albert and Edward or Edmund.

ilovemykids5 · 17/11/2019 07:15

If I was having a boy he was going to be Albie. But it's a girl and she will be Aria. 😊

emilybrontescorsett · 17/11/2019 07:50

Isabella and Edward but not Teddy. If you aren't going to use Edward then I'd go for Oliver.

Rainbowqueeen · 17/11/2019 07:58

Isla and Theo

MrsBertBibby · 17/11/2019 09:06

By Mya do you mean Mia or Maya? Maya is lovely, the Mya spelling looks odd.

Cookit · 17/11/2019 09:29

Mya? I thought the general spelling was Maya (which I love). Or Mia if you are going for MEE-a pronunciation.
I like both Maya and Mia but Mya looks very wrong.

Boys - I like Theo and Oliver. Teddy I really really hate as a name.

MissHenty · 17/11/2019 09:59

Ahh you’ve got a gorgeous list

Girls I love Aria or Isla

Boys I love all those names, maybe Theo or Teddy best but I really love Oliver and actually haven’t met one yet under 5yo despite it being no 1 name

Chlosavxox · 18/11/2019 11:14

@MissHenty I thought the same I've actually never met any babies/toddlers with these 'popular' names, only Isabella! Some people are put off by popular names but my names Chloe I grew up with 4 people in my class with the same name and I loved it Grin

Chlosavxox · 18/11/2019 11:19

I've defiantly seen it spelt 'Mya' a lot - Mya was number 173 out of the top 1000 in 2017! Smile pronounced literally how it's spelt, I don't like the 'Mia' spelling as I feel like people would say Mee-ah.

But I think Isla is my favourite anyway so it doesn't matter Wink

Girls:
Isla - pretty
Aria - pretty
Isabella - not to my taste
Mya - not to my taste

Boys:
Theo - love!
Albie - not to my taste
Oliver - I like it, its popular for a reason!
Teddy - ok but maybe a bit too cutesie for my taste!

Cookit · 18/11/2019 11:50

Yes but Maya is number 37 and is the more accepted spelling.
