Are any of these names chavvy?

Sorry for the goady title, I'll probably get flamed for using the term 'chavvy' but I just need to know if I'm setting my future child up for a lot of judgement. People do judge others for their names after all. So we have:

Summer
Lydia
Elise
Autumn
Aurelia

I LOVE Elise!!!!

percheron67 · 16/11/2019 18:27

Summer and Autumn.

ilovetofu · 16/11/2019 18:30

Summer or Autumn are just a bit "cringe" imo.

ilovetofu · 16/11/2019 18:31

Lydia & Elsie are my faves.

formerbabe · 16/11/2019 18:32

No but Aurelia sounds a bit like a made up name

ilovetofu · 16/11/2019 18:33

Also just thinking that you might like Eloise OP?

formerbabe · 16/11/2019 18:34

I always see Lydia as a very middle class name

MileyWiley · 16/11/2019 18:35

Summer and Elise would be the chaviest around here.

missmouse101 · 16/11/2019 18:37

I think Elise is chavvy. Autumn is lovely. Lydia is dreadful, a really dated OAP name.

DerbyshireGirly · 16/11/2019 18:43

Can't believe people are saying Elise is chavvy! Had no idea it was being used in those kind of circles. Can't deny it's put me off a little, thought it was a lovely name.

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 16/11/2019 18:47

How on earth is Elise chavvy? Confused
So many ignorant comments on this thread...

And as for 'Summer', the poshest and most pretentious person I know has a child called 'Samhradh', (pronounced Sow(as in pig) Ra) which is the Irish word for summer.
It's regarded as a beautiful, descriptive name, very much associated with nature & the time of year that the baby was born.

TatianaLarina · 16/11/2019 20:31

Aurelia is beautiful.

No but Aurelia sounds a bit like a made up name

Only if you‘ve never done Latin, Roman history, been to France, Italy etc.

ElvenMoonwings · 16/11/2019 20:37

I think Summer and Autumn are borderline, not because they're intrinsically uneducated or tacky sounding names - they're beautifuland if anything, rather hippie - but because of the demographic they've been popular with. Especially Summer.

The others aren't. Especially Aurelia.

LesLavandes · 16/11/2019 20:41

Isn't Aurelia an old fashioned Italian name?

I love it

ElvenMoonwings · 16/11/2019 20:44

It's Latin - classical - and means golden. Beautiful name, very pretty.

Hey1256 · 16/11/2019 21:19

Summer and autumn are chavvy IMO

Chlosavxox · 16/11/2019 21:24

I think Summer is (from what I've seen) but the others are nice

AaaaaaarghhhWhereAreMyKeys · 16/11/2019 21:33

Yes, two of them, Summer is the worst followed by Autumn.

tabbiemoo · 17/11/2019 08:16

Where I live Summer and Elise are both a bit chavvy. Autumn is borderline.

Eloise definitely better.
Lydia is very nice. I'm not a fan of Aurelia.

Of your other names I like Constance - nn Connie and Felicity nn Flick (I know a few who go by Fifi or Lissy which I'm not a fan of)

Celeste is ok but I prefer Cecily or Cecelia which are similar.

Persephone is interesting I prefer Seraphina which is similar.

mathanxiety · 17/11/2019 08:23

Aurelia Constance would be my choice.

SheChoseDown · 17/11/2019 08:25

Lydia chlamydia

misspiggy19 · 17/11/2019 08:33

Elise is chavvy. I’ve never known it not to be

Nillynally · 17/11/2019 08:46

Summer could be, but I do like it x

basicbitch16 · 17/11/2019 09:32

My DD is called Elise & I absolutely love it. Definitely not chavvy where we live! I'm actually really surprised it's chavvy anywhere.

Aurelia reminds me of Love Actually, although it is beautiful.

How about Amelie?
