Alice or Faye

Weve really struggled to pick a name for our baby daughter, shes two weeks old now and we've told the family her name is Faye which I have loved. However, we were originally set on Alice and now I cant help but think of her as an Alice and love the niknames attached to it.
Her Dads not too happy with me and doesnt want to tell everyone that weve changed it especially after taking a week to pick to begin with, do you think its okay to change it after a week of being Faye and whats everyones thoughts on the names? Please be honest, I still like Faye just think I love Alice more.

Well I think Alice is lovely (Faye is pretty, always would have spelt it Fay though, but you could save that for your next daughter!).

it doesn't matter a bit that you've been calling her Faye, she's 14 days old, not a toddler. A friend changed her daughter's name after six months and she's never regretted it.

Go with what you love and call her Alice, it's an adorable name.

Alice is overused imo..

I really like Faye, but you have to love it and if your having doubts about the name then change it a week is nothing.

I prefer Fay by a mile!

But my son spent his first week with one name, then switched as his dad changed his mind.

Keep Fay as a middle name. That's what I did!

I prefer Faye. Alice is a bit stuffy in comparison.

Faye is nicer imo (and doesn't make me think of lice) but it's not too late to change if you like Alice.
People will comment at first but in a few months they will have forgotten all about it and your DD will have no idea.

And change it if you want. She’s your daughter, you have to live with calling her name all the time. Don’t worry about “people” who will forget you even changed it a few weeks down the line. Don’t live in regret.

Faye is pretty but I prefer Alice.

I much prefer Faye. However if you and your partner want to change it-change it. People will forget about it soon enough and you’re the one who will be saying in 1000 times a day for the rest of your life

If you want to change it you need to explain to DH how important this is to you to make him understand. I think sometimes DH think this is just a phase and think you’ll forget about it in a couple of days. But if you’ve got your heart set on a name you won’t forget about it

Alice is just such a gorgeous classic

Honestly it feels like a big deal at the time (of changing the name), in a couple of weeks no one will care whatsoever. It’s really really not a big deal at all

Faye is my favourite girls name! Unfortunately it didn't sound right with my surname so didn't use it for my DD.

Alys is also lovely. Not so keen on Fay don't let your dh put you off this is a name gif life choose Carefully!

I prefer Faye, It’s gorgeous. It’s so soft and gentle. It’s always been around but never really in abundance.
I don’t Like Alice, but I appreciate it’s a beautiful name.
However If you want to incorporate both Alice Faye goes much better than Faye Alice.

I like Faye, but Alice is very nice too. Can’t think of any nicknames for Alice, though.

I think Faye I’m really bland. Alice is nicer! But anyway I would change it. Best to do it asap before it gets even more awkward and you end up regretting it further down the line.
