Any suggestions for a middle name for our winning girls name (so far) - Lucy? Surname starts with a D so want to avoid spelling a word with initials.
Thanks

Helena?

bridgetreilly · 14/11/2019 21:52

Lucy Barbara
Lucy Claire
Lucy Miranda
Lucy Kate
Lucy Niamh
Lucy Penelope
Lucy Caroline
Lucy Delilah

OP, I would also avoid middle names beginning with S.

whatthehelldowecare · 14/11/2019 21:57

I know a Lucy Bella and I think that's lovely

RolytheRhino · 14/11/2019 21:59

Caroline

PinkDaffodil2 · 14/11/2019 22:00

Rose

Why have a middle name?

MsTSwift · 14/11/2019 22:01

Charlotte obviously

Borodeb · 14/11/2019 22:01

Thanks, it is longer than both the first and last names so I'm not sure the flow works.

Oh that's a shame, I think Lucy Alice is lovely but those initials would spell a word!

katseyes7 · 14/11/2019 22:04

My ex's eldest was Lucy Eleanor.

Borodeb · 14/11/2019 22:04

Good point, avoid the S too

I like Lucy Jane

RolytheRhino · 14/11/2019 22:06

Fair enough. I like a long middle name when you've got a short first and last name. I think they can end up too short otherwise.

Lucy Caroline Dill (for example) sounds quite nice to my ear, even better with a two syllable surname. Up to you though, obviously.

Jane? Grace? Rose? Eden?

RolytheRhino · 14/11/2019 22:07

Nevermind Eden, starts with a vowel. What about Faye?

Borodeb · 14/11/2019 22:08

Lucy Alice is lovely, I supposed LAD isn't too bad a word, I'm just not sure if it would lead to taunts at school. I also love Eliza as a middle name but that's LED.

I do like a middle name and we all have them in the family.

My sister is Lucy Caroline and DH’s cousin is Lucy Marie.

AFairlyHardAvocado · 14/11/2019 22:10

For some reason I like a one syllable middle name after Lucy, which is a lovely name by the way!

Niamh
Maeve
Pearl
Beth
Belle
Joy
Joan (I have a soft spot for LJ as a girls nickname)
Rose
Wren

PhonicTheHedgehog · 14/11/2019 22:11

Lucy Margot

RickOShay · 14/11/2019 22:12

I like Lucy Helena.
What about Lucy Marianne?

Borodeb · 14/11/2019 22:13

Maybe I'm being a bit fussy, I may need to think again.
Some lovely suggestions thank you.

Jane is my middle name so could consider as a name to hand down.

Lucy Grace
Lucy Rose
Lucy Mae
Lucy Emma

Both my sister and mine initials spelt out a word (different words) and no-one ever commented on it. I think for innocuous words such as LAD or LED you would be fine.

I would be more cautious if the initials were STD, PMT, SEX etc

clippityclop · 14/11/2019 22:20

Jane
May
Ellen
Rose
Marie

Borodeb · 14/11/2019 22:21

I like Heidi too but don't think it flows after Lucy

Marlena1 · 14/11/2019 22:26

I heard Lucy Jo before and thought it was gorgeous

Lemonysherbet · 14/11/2019 22:26

Don't avoid LSD, I married Into it, it's not that bad 😁
