If we like these, what else will we like?

Looking for a girl's name that is timeless, not too 'out there' and will work well for both an adult and a child.

We like the following, but I still don't get the feeling we've found the right name:

Lucy
Leah
Hannah

Names considered, but for various reasons can't use:

Imogen
Alice
Beatrice
Jemima
Isobel
Eleanor
Emmeline
Harriet
Violet
Phoebe
Clara
Juliette

Thanks!

Lucy and Hannah are lovely, I don't think Leah is timeless though. Elizabeth, Charlotte, Rose, Sophie, Emma, Jessica and Katherine are similar in style.

I love the name Lucy though @StiltonVanDeKamp

MikeUniformMike · 14/11/2019 08:54

Leah is a biblical name, so is timeless. I like your original list, and would pick Lucy.

dillygaff · 14/11/2019 09:11

I considered most of your names for our last child.

My first child is Nicole - in ten years she's met one other Nicole so not an overused name but it's pretty timeless and a name everyone is familiar with

Idolovetobebesidethesea · 14/11/2019 09:30

I dislike Leah. Names I think of as like Lucy and Hannah:
Emily
Sophie
Kate/Katie
Catherine
Elizabeth
Emma
Amelia
Freya
Lara

Thanks all, some good suggestions on here to think about. Keep them coming please.

I do really like Lucy, DH loves Hannah. Leah was a name on our list when we had our DS and I've always liked it. It seems Lucy is preferred here?

I can't shake the feeling that there's a better name out there I have missed - but then again the doubt could be due to massively overthinking this!

What’s you DS called @StiltonVanDeKamp

StiltonVanDeKamp · 14/11/2019 10:36

Too outing - but it's a traditional, biblical name, that isn't too unusual.

We were torn between Leah/Leia and Lara but went with Lara. I love Leah, though.
