I’ve name changed for this as we aren’t telling anymore the name until baby is here.
I’m expecting a girl and we are pretty much set on the name Elizabeth. Do you think it’s a nice name? How many baby Elizabeth’s do you know and do they go by a nickname? Thanks

Hello ! That's my name. I've always loved it, classic name that suits babies all the way to adulthood.

My close friends call me Liz and professionally I'm Elizabeth. There are many variations to it but you can control it. My mother only calls me Elizabeth.

It goes well with most middle names as well. I think it means "My God is an oath" or "My God is abundance"

Mummaofmytribe · 13/11/2019 09:10

I love it. It's one of DD's middle name. I really wanted it as first name but the father wouldn't agree.

Mammatino · 13/11/2019 09:17

It's a timeless classic name, you can be a baby Betty, lizzie or lilly and a grown up Elizabeth. I think it's a nice strong name too. You will get people who don't like it too, but if you love it go with it. FYI don't know any baby Elizabeth's currently, so it's not a very common name at the moment.

RaininSummer · 13/11/2019 09:18

Lovely name with lots of possible diminutives.

RanchoRelaxo · 13/11/2019 09:20

I love the nickname 'libby' which can be used with Elizabeth

Thetimetravelerswife · 13/11/2019 09:23

Littlepixie85 · 13/11/2019 09:25

This is my daughter's name, she is nearly 2 and we call her Beth. I've always loved it as a name, timeless and versatile!

MrsFoxPlus4Again · 13/11/2019 09:25

I know 4, All Elizabeth but my gran & cousin are known as Ann. My cousins daughter is shortened to Anna & 1 called Lizzie ☺️

Roseability18 · 13/11/2019 09:25

I love it. My husband was less keen, otherwise we might have had a liitte Elizabeth!

MrsFoxPlus4Again · 13/11/2019 09:26

Actually when I see it wrote down I don’t know why my family shorten it to Ann 😂

Disfordarkchocolate · 13/11/2019 09:26

This is a lovely name. My daughter's middle name, after my Grandma.

CherryPavlova · 13/11/2019 09:27

All the Elizabeth’s I know are delightful. So many diminutives too that it can always be adapted to suit personality and preferences. It’s lovely.

moonlight1705 · 13/11/2019 09:30

I've got a 9 month old Elizabeth and we tend to call her Lizzie but she can choose her own nickname when she is older.

I met another Elizabeth in baby class and it was her 'English' name as she was born to a Chinese couple.

ilovetofu · 13/11/2019 09:31

Love!

Makesmilingyourbesthobby · 13/11/2019 09:33

Jumblebee · 13/11/2019 11:01

My absolute favourite girls name, my first DD is Elizabeth, nickname Libby.

It's classy, elegant and versatile. The world needs more Elizabeths Grin

FizzyGreenWater · 13/11/2019 11:56

Very few - not popular now.

Don't mind it, but do hate Liz.

MyKingdomForBrie · 13/11/2019 12:01

This is my DD middle name but I use it as her first name often because I love it (she answers to both!) her nn is Lilibet.

RuthW · 13/11/2019 12:19

It's lovely

myolivetree · 13/11/2019 12:37

Sweet. My nana was Elisabeth known as Bet.

MikeUniformMike · 13/11/2019 15:20

Elizabeth is a true classic. Will shorten to Lizbeth in speech so no nn needed but plenty to choose from.
