I have ages yet but am driving myself mad trying to think of a boy's name that is biblical, not too out there and has th s sound in the middle.
I know this sounds ridiculous but on a previous link, a poster spotted that our 3 dc all have a middle s which I'd never noticed before. They are also biblical ( not overtly religious just like those names)
I dont want this little chap to be left out!
We can't use Isaac or Josiah unfortunately and we already have a Joseph. If MN can't find it, it doesnt exist.

Isaiah
Jesse
Moses
Samson

bridgetreilly · 08/11/2019 01:07

Moses
Isaiah
Esau (I would NOT choose this, tbh.)

DramaAlpaca · 08/11/2019 01:10

Damn. I was going to suggest Josiah then I saw you can't use it. But it's too similar to Joseph anyway, really.

My eldest two have the same two letters in their (very different) names, so that connects them. DC3 has a name that's the same length & style as DC1 so there's a connection there.

What I suppose I'm trying to say is that you might be able to find a theme in a different way if you can't find a biblical name with an 's' sound in the middle.

GrumpyHoonMain · 08/11/2019 01:11

Issa
Solomon -probably my fave biblical name

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 08/11/2019 01:14

Okay- I’ve found:

Asher (Hebrew for "happy" or "blessed." In the Bible, Asher is one of Jacob's sons)

Ishmael (Hebrew for “the Lord listens”)

Joshua (Hebrew for “the Lords salvation”)

Meshach (Can’t fins meaning of this one- sorry!)

Samson (Hebrew for “like the sun”)

None of these set my world on fire but all biblical with that S sound in the middle.

AllTheWhoresOfMalta · 08/11/2019 01:16

Sorry- posted too soon. Was going to add that it doesn’t have the S sound but I love Nathaniel as a biblical name. I have no sons but if I did I would use it in a flash. Beautiful name.

Disfordarkchocolate · 08/11/2019 09:54

Asher is my favourite.

BykerBykerWooooo · 08/11/2019 09:59

Asher is a lovey name.

Also: Jesse, Lucas, Tomas, Elias

TBH, I don’t think you need to keep the S theme - you’re just making work for yourself.

DidntLikeRugbyAnyway · 08/11/2019 10:49

Can you get away with Ezra?

Tillygetsit · 08/11/2019 10:58

Thank you all so much. We have a very popular surname 2 syllables starting with J so the more exotic names sound a bit silly. We keep drifting back to Asher. Nice meaning, fits criteria DH really keen. I just keep getting an earworm but I guess that would pass! Its definitely the frontrunner atm.
Thanks again.

Is 'Ezra' too out there?

IAmFourEels · 08/11/2019 13:31

Whoops, missed that 'Ezra' had already been suggested

Tillygetsit · 08/11/2019 23:04

Thanks for the help. I am so so happy. DH suggested Jasper tonight and it's mentioned as a gem stone in the bible. Middle s and a name I really love. He will be Jasper Francis. Phew. Sorted
