Brother for Teddy

I like a right mix of old traditional names as well as some "newer" names...
Here are some on my list so far -

Sonny
Ethan
Levi
Buddy
Jackson/Jaxson/Jack
Roman
Rex
Oscar
Remy
Oliver
Laurence/Laurie
Jamie
George
Charlie
Rocco
Bear
Arthur
Archie
Art
Ray

Some I like more than others and some I keep changing my mind on - love them one minute and then can't see it working with my surname the next or with my son, Teddy's name... ie, having a Teddy and a Buddy... would be ridiculous right?! Or even worse - Teddy and Bear!!!! 🤣🤣🤣

But it gives you an idea of the kind of names I like...?

Help! I'm on my own too so got no one (no father) to decide names with!!!

Teddy and Charlie Rocco or Sonny.
Levi is bloody horrible. It just makes me think of that dirty paedophilic murdering scumbag, sorry to bring down the tone.
I must say though I am laughing at the thought of Teddy and Bear.🤣🤣🤣.
Other ideas
Teddy and Dougie
Teddy and Wilbur
Teddy and Albie
Teddy and Frankie
Teddy and Louie
Teddy and Vinnie
Teddy and Harry
Teddy and Casper
Teddy and Leo

You cannot have Teddy & Bear! Also Buddy. I read it as Teddy & Bundy!

Sonny
Ethan
Jack
Rex
Oscar
Oliver
Laurie
George
Arthur
Archie

Are all lovely on your list.

Henry
Samuel
Frank/Frankie
Arlo
Bobby (might be a bit much with Teddy though)
Jude
Finn
Noah
Caleb

Some times it’s easier though on your own.
I was on my own when I had dd. Therefore it was all my choice. Wish I’d have put more thought into it now, but That’s another story

TitaniaQueenOfTheFairies · 02/11/2019 22:45

Orlando

Winterdaysarehere · 02/11/2019 22:47

My cousin has a Teddy (Edward) and a Barney (Barnaby).

FAQs · 02/11/2019 22:49

William (Bill) sure they’ll have the most bodacious time.

WatchingFriendsOnRepeat · 02/11/2019 22:53

@FAQs omg! Billy was on my list but it's my dad's name and we have a very up/down relationship so I'm not sure I want it... although I do actually love the name. UNTIL I just said it how you meant it - Bill and Ted! I'd never considered that... can you imagine shouting that out across the playground lol 🤣

@Awwlookatmybabyspider ok Levi is off the list 🙈

Jossina · 02/11/2019 22:57

Is he Edward or Theodore or actually Teddy?

WatchingFriendsOnRepeat · 02/11/2019 22:58

I do like Arlo but I don't think I've got the balls to use that. I probBly don't have the balls for a few of my less "normal" names but I do like them, like Buddy - I love Buddy Holly but most people wouldn't get the reference to him and with Teddy sounds stupid.

I like Louis/Louie too actually... whoever suggested that one.

My sister suggested Freddie. I thought she was joking. She wasn't! She thinks it's cute with Teddy 🤦🏻‍♀️

WatchingFriendsOnRepeat · 02/11/2019 23:03

@Jossina he is Theodore William Erik - but that was only to satisfy my old fashioned dad who wouldn't accept that I could name my child a "nickname" officially. However no one, other than perhaps a doctor, has called him Theodore. Ever. Did consider changing it legally to Teddy a couple of years ago, but didn't bother. He can choose to go by whatever he wants professionally (or personally) later in life, himself!

That depends. What breed? Bear would work for a Newfoundland, Rex has a hint of doberman about it, but if you're thinking in terms of an 'oodle' of some sort Buddy could be cute.

WatchingFriendsOnRepeat · 02/11/2019 23:22

@FurrySlipperBoots 👏🏼

Just saw "Max" on another thread... mmmmmmm I like that one too... I think.... 🤔

OP posts:
WatchingFriendsOnRepeat · 02/11/2019 23:43

Although my surname begins with an "m" so maybe not Max :(

Avoid names which end in a y sound and choose something traditional that has a contemporary shortening... eg Jonathan traditionally shortens to Jack.

MrsNoMopp · 03/11/2019 01:45

Ray, Ethan or George

Astronica · 03/11/2019 01:46

I think these are the best (and for Teddy's brother):

Louis
Jack
Oscar
George

Shadow1234 · 03/11/2019 03:53

Elliot
Ezra
Fraser
Quinn

FAQs · 03/11/2019 08:54

I actually really like it Grin

mistydayswampwitch · 03/11/2019 09:11

Why do you need balls to use Arlo? It's really popular so not like it's really out there.

IckleBear · 03/11/2019 09:17

I like Sonny with Teddy
Teddy and Luka
Teddy and Otis

WatchingFriendsOnRepeat · 03/11/2019 09:32

@mistydayswampwitch because I only know it for a green dinosaur with a long neck and therefore think it's a stupid name, despite liking it! 🤷🏻‍♀️

OP posts:
Pippilangstrumpfi · 03/11/2019 09:58

I'd avoid another-ie name. I like
Teddy & Quinn
Teddy & Arlo

MissHenty · 03/11/2019 09:58

You’ve got a great list @WatchingFriendsOnRepeat

Love many of your names but hate Jaxon (that spelling with a X is awful) hate Bear and hate Roman (it’s just getting ridiculously popular - because of all the famous “Roman’s” On Tv and radio- the name has come from nowhere so is likely to suddenly disappear as quickly as it’s appeared , and will date really quickly and become this generations Darren or Keith. Plus it’s too similar to RoWan and RoNan and all those names get really muddled at my local baby group)

What’s your favourite from your list @WatchingFriendsOnRepeat ? I really like Arthur, Sonny, Ethan, Rex Charlie and Art ❤️

How about Rudy/Rudi? Met a lovely little boy with that name recently. How about Barnaby or Elliott?
