We’re expecting a girl in 2020 and the surname is Clarke. I feel like we should have an individual first name but we can’t agree. I would like a name like Georgina or Theodora. Do you have any suggestions?

We are Clarke as well so same thought it was ok to have a slightly more unusual first name. We had DS but for DD we liked:

Zara Clarke
Cleo Clarke
Beatrix Clarke
Jemima Clarke

Theodora is lovely though. What about Georgiana? Georgina is a bit 90's I think but still nice enough.

Congratulations! I prefer Theodora to Georgina.

I love using different sounds for C, the ways it’s so hard in the name Clarke can be softened with a first name. So a name like Claire or Coco would sound really sharp.

Love georgina 💗

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 02/11/2019 09:05

@popsadaisy. Why do have to say good bye to it. You can keep your maiden name on marriage.
Sorry for the derail

MissHenty · 02/11/2019 09:46

@awwlookatmybabyspider @popsadaisy I agree- keep your surname! Why should you have to give it up. More and more women are keeping their surnames after marriage. It already seems like a totally outdated and archaic tradition to change names and be “owned” by a male partner. I kept my surname and a couple of my friends have done the same.
