Taylor Rose

We like the name Taylor for a girl, with the middle name Rose. I have a feeling it might sound a bit dated although I do love it. What are your thoughts?

It sounds like a men's outfitters.

FurrySlipperBoots · 01/11/2019 22:24

It's an odd juxtaposition with a very masculine name followed by a very feminine one. Do you have any others on a short list?

Mayborn · 01/11/2019 22:25

Sorry, dated and American. Not saying anything wrong with either but that’s what it makes me think

Welshy545 · 01/11/2019 22:30

The other name we like is Abigail Rose

anomoony · 01/11/2019 22:33

The Bold and the Beautiful, circa 1990.

anomoony · 01/11/2019 22:33

Abigail is much better in my opinion.

MaryPeary · 01/11/2019 22:39

Really depends on what you want. Taylor strikes me as something of a passing trend following Taylor Swift, and there are some versions of Taylor spelled differently now, too. Abigail is much more classic and timeless and classier than Taylor, but I the other hand, Taylor is snappy and a bit cool.

I'm assuming you're only planning to use Rose as a middle name rather than going for a hyphenated first name? Cos that is also very much a current trend that may pass soon.

Newnamefornow12 · 01/11/2019 22:44

Thank you. Yes Rose will just be a middle name, not a hyphenated first name. It is a family name so will definitely be using it as middle name.

Abigail Rose is lovely.

Iamthewombat · 01/11/2019 22:47

It’s the Chantelle of 2025. Don’t do it.

Dawn Ward from the Real Housewives of Cheshire has a daughter named Taylor. Just saying. In case there was any doubt over whether it is a classy name!

Chilledout11 · 01/11/2019 22:48

Abigail is much nicer op.

Mumoftwoyoungkids · 01/11/2019 22:49

Abigail Rose is lovely.

What she said.

DramaAlpaca · 01/11/2019 22:50

All I'm going to say is that I adore the name Rose.

absolutezero0k · 01/11/2019 22:50

It's the name of a law firm local to me so just conjures up suits and briefcases for me!

NameChangedNoImagination · 01/11/2019 22:51

I love it. People on here won't like it as MN is very MC and Taylor is generally a name more associated with WC. Sad but true. I absolutely love it and even more so if she was addressed as Taylor Rose rather than just Taylor.

Chloemol · 01/11/2019 22:52

There’s a solicitors firm called a Taylor Rose!

NoSauce · 01/11/2019 23:02

Taylor is bad. Abigail is pretty dated too. I love Rose for a first name though.

Astronica · 02/11/2019 00:08

Taylor is okay, especially if you stick to that spelling. I do find it a bit dated though. I think Abigail is gorgeous.

MrsNoMopp · 02/11/2019 00:09

Abigail is a lovely name. Taylor is a surname or a mid-spelled occupation.

Pemba · 02/11/2019 03:49

Abigail Rose would be so much nicer.

lifesnotaspectatorsport · 02/11/2019 05:00

Abigail is an old-fashioned name for a maid, though. Just FYI.

Cookit · 02/11/2019 07:27

Is the person who suggested Abigail Rose also the OP?

I prefer Abigail Rose. I don’t like Taylor.

CherryPavlova · 02/11/2019 07:29

Rose is nice and timeless/classless

diddlediddle · 02/11/2019 07:30

Rose is the middle name of approximately 50% of baby girls born at the moment. I know you're saying it's a family name but it's really dull and unoriginal. Are there any other family names you could use?

Taylor is also awful tbh but there we are. Abigail is much nicer. Not sure who suggested that.

EleanorShellstrop100 · 02/11/2019 07:35

Well I like it! Don’t like Abigail much tho
