Harry........

DH and I are expecting our first DS together early next year. We've discussed baby names many times and the ONLY name we both love is Harry, BUT.....it's currently no 4 on the most popular list, I personally know at least 12 people socially with a DS called Harry and I also know of a few other pregnant women that are due before me and have chosen to use the name too. We've not told anyone our name yet as I prefer to wait until the baby is born.

I'm really concerned that is just too popular. I don't want DS to end up in a class full of Harry's. DH always refers to my bump as baby Harry now though and I'm really torn. We have 4 other DS's between us, all with traditional bible names so want something traditional for our DS too. Harry was perfect until it became so popular. What would you do? DH is very picky about names too which isn't helping Confused

Harry Lee seems like hairily to me, and I don't think it sounds right together.

You obviously both love Harry, so call him Harry. It’s a nice name!

Yes go with Harry

When we were at school popular names were much more popular than they are now. Sorry that probably doesn’t make sense but gone are the days when 1 in 5 boys were called John or David.

The percentage of babies called Harry is miniscule compared to the top names in the 80s and before that.

It’s a great name you both love. Like another posted has said if you pick another name that you like less, you’ll probably find there’s more babies with that name than Harry! I know more Arlo’s than Harry’s for example
Only know one Harry and none at mu DS nursery or baby groups

It's a bloody lovely name. My Harry was born before Harry Potter became a huge thing.

Top name.

It’s hugely popular and has been for many years. I’m not a fan of it personally.

The numbers of babies called Harry has actually been declining every year since 2011. There’s way less Harry’s now than 8 years ago.
