Emmy

I know an Emme pronounced Emmie. But if it weren't for that I'd definitely have assumed Em.

MyNewBearTotoro · 26/10/2019 23:24

I’d think it would be said like Esme but without the s, so I would say Em-May, but Em-Mee would seem fine as well (as I think some people pronounce Esme Ez-May and others Ez-Mee).

MrsNoMopp · 26/10/2019 23:36

I'd say Emme is M, because Elle is L.

If you want it to sound Emmy, then be so there is no Y in Emmeline, I'd spell it Emmi or Emmie.

MissOrganisedMe · 26/10/2019 23:39

Em-may probably but the me is making me think it's Em-mee but that wasn't my first pronunciation 🤷🏼‍♀️

GaaaaarlicBread · 26/10/2019 23:42

I’ve always been known as Emmy (rather than emily) so would assume that’s what emme is but It also probably varies how people pronounce things depending on where they’re from . Accents etc . Lovely name though :)

NumberblockNo1 · 26/10/2019 23:44

If you want it as her everyday name, in nursery etc I would go with Emma as a name to go by, short for Emmeline but call her Emmy for fun/affectiinately. I wouldnt peronally use Emmy for her name she grows up with.

MyDcAreMarvel · 26/10/2019 23:47

Like the letters M and E

Lavenderblues · 27/10/2019 07:20

Em-eh

Miljah · 27/10/2019 16:12

Em.

I changed how my shortened name was written.

I used to spell it with 'ff' but I changed it to 'ph'. I still have old friends who do the 'ff', even just 'f' 😂

Eleanorbellanor · 27/10/2019 18:20

Em

Taylen69 · 27/10/2019 23:18

Emmie

Itslookinglikeabeautifulday · 27/10/2019 23:19

Em

Wheat2Harvest · 28/10/2019 00:06

Emm-er. It's the first part of Emmeline.

Skyejuly · 28/10/2019 06:38

I use it as my nickname and say it emmie

Lavenderblues · 28/10/2019 07:10

Yes, the beginning of Emmeline. Em meh.

AlphaNumericalSequence · 28/10/2019 07:17

Em
I'd find it a bit of an exasperating name for all concerned.
