Lovely!

Islandermum · 16/10/2019 22:41

Really lovely. It wouldn't be something I'd name my child as I'm a little more traditional and totally not cool enough but I think it's unique, interesting and lovely!

Macca84 · 16/10/2019 22:41

I love it, one of my favourite names

RopeBrick · 16/10/2019 22:41

I’ve met a couple of baby Astrid’s. Both have Swedish parents. Super cute.

I named my dd3 Astrid, always get loads of compliments about her name.

DramaAlpaca · 16/10/2019 22:51

I'm not sure. It makes me think of the word 'astringent' Confused

On the plus side, I like that it's strong & a bit quirky.

scrivette · 16/10/2019 22:58

Love it, there is one at DD's nursery and DS1 has a bit of a crush on Astrid from How to Train Your Dragon!

Very pretty, unusual but easy to spell and pronounce. I've only known two, one German and one Austrian. But I don't think it's too out there to use in the UK (assuming that's where you are!)

Whattodoabout · 17/10/2019 10:33

Love it

WhoArtinHeaven · 17/10/2019 14:48

This is my daughter's name. So obviously I love it!

MikeUniformMike · 17/10/2019 14:57

It's nice. Will be more a lot more popular than you think.
If she's one of two in her peer group, your surname had better not start with E.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 17/10/2019 14:58

One of my daughters has a friend called astrid, shes great, strong, independent and her name has never been shortened to ass!!! 😂😂
