Hi, our little girl arrived one week ago and I am still undecided on a name for her. I also have a little boy Mason John (John was my dad who sadly died when I was pregnant so using his name was a no_brainer) Please can you give me your honest opinions on our options:
Holly Mae or Hollie May
Holly Elizabeth
Freya Rose
Sienna Rose
Jessica Rose

Holly seems to be our favourite but when we have mentioned it to family and friends we're getting very neutral responses such as, 'well as long as you like it that's the main thing'
Such a massive decision! And I am the worst decision maker ever.

Love Holly Elizabeth, our massive holly rose? I think Holly is lovely. It's a normal name, not strange and not hard to pronounce, but not common either. It's also not too girly but not too tom boy.

I think it's a really lovely name x

Raera · 08/10/2019 20:32

Jessica Rose.

Robs20 · 08/10/2019 20:33

I think they are all lovely (although not a big fan of Mae). Holly Elizabeth is my favourite!

Yippeeayeyeah · 08/10/2019 20:37

All are beautiful. If it was me I would pick Holly Elizabeth

KindleAndCake · 08/10/2019 20:42

I quite like Sienna Rose Smile

pinksquash13 · 08/10/2019 20:49

I like Holly. Nothing with May or Mae. I do not like Sienna Rose but the others are nice!

Babyfg · 08/10/2019 20:50

Freya rose.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 08/10/2019 21:02

Holly Elizabeth is lovely. Thank you for spelling it properly and not 'Hollie' Wink

fairybeagle · 08/10/2019 21:08

Love the name Holly. It would have been this DS2's name if he'd been a girl.

Hydrogenbeatsoxygen · 08/10/2019 21:09

Holly Elizabeth ❤️

Welshy545 · 08/10/2019 21:13

Holly Elizabeth x

LOvE the name Holly Elizabeth

Look no further!

(Love Jessica too you have great taste! But prefer holly)

Don’t look too much into it with your family. They might not want to be too effusive about a name that you then decide not to pick. They’re probably not wanting to sway you. What they say is correct- as long as you love it, go for it! Once it’s your little girls name you won’t imagine her as anything else

MumToBe1980 · 08/10/2019 21:50

Aw thank you for opinions, Elizabeth is my husband's nanna's name so he would love to use that. The only think that puts me off is the fact that her initials will be HEL as my surname is Lewis. Am I thinking about this way too much!?!?

Holly May Elizabeth Lewis?

Love Jessica.

MrsP2015 · 08/10/2019 22:43

All of your first name choices are lovely.
Don't consider family in this naming decision- they will accept it regardless.
This is your baby, your choice.

When pregnant and discussing names not 1 person I spoke to liked my name choices and since being in this position I realise how bad it is how people feel they have a right to say they accept or dislike your baby's potential name! We ended up not telling anyone til she was born and everyone said it was beautiful but those who may not have liked it kept quiet!

Rant over lol- you go with your favourite. Holly is lovely but they all are.

I like the idea of 2 middle names too.

MumToBe1980 · 08/10/2019 23:58

I had not even considered two middle names, great idea. Yes it's crazy how people are quite happy to voice their opinions on your name choices but all that really matters is that hubby and I like it.

Thanks again everyone x

I really like Holly. Congratulations.

diddlediddle · 09/10/2019 04:20

Holly is lovely and Elizabeth is the best middle name. It matches well with Mason John too.

I personally wouldn't worry about the initials, plus HEL isn't a thing - it reminds me more of a nickname for Helen than it does the word Hell to be honest. If you put May or Rose in there as well I would put that second because it flows better
Holly Elizabeth May L-

But I wouldn't if I were you because May and Rose are literally the middle names of every single baby born at the moment 😂

Astronica · 09/10/2019 04:44

Holly Elizabeth is my favourite. Holly Elizabeth May would be lovely too.
I definitely prefer Holly and May spellings if you use these names - more substance and less cutesie.
Freya and Jessica are good names too. But I would avoid Rose with them as it's over-used. Freya Elizabeth and Jessica May sound better to me.

MrsGilly1 · 09/10/2019 05:53

Holly Elizabeth is my favourite.

You could have two middle names to break it up..

Holly Elizabeth Rose Lewis x

MissHenty · 09/10/2019 07:40

HEL is fine @MumToBe1980 just sounds like helen

Underyoursky · 09/10/2019 07:41

Holly Elizabeth stands out to me.

Hydrogenbeatsoxygen · 09/10/2019 07:43

Holly Elizabeth Rose, if you are concerned about initials.
