Quite like the name Aria but somehow it doesn't feel like a finished off name. So was thinking Arianna but will everyone just think I named her after Arianna Grande.

I think Aria is lovely

People might think that but who cares? I doubt she’ll still be in the charts in ten years time (I hope she is but probs unlikely)

I know an Aria and it’s lovely. My favourite girls name is Arianne (it’s French).

Have just found Ariah. As in Mariah without the M. Quite like this.

Aria is lovely, as is Arianna and Arianne.

Ariah as in Mariah makes me think of diarrhea

userabcname · 02/10/2019 14:56

I quite like all the options. I also know an Ariadne who shortens to Ari or Aria.

Aurelia?

I know an Aria and she is a lovely little girl which a brilliant personality. I never thought her name sounded unfinished but her mum said she does get a few people mistaking the pronunciation to be the same as Arya

Morado · 02/10/2019 19:44

If you go with Ariah people will just assume it'd Aria spelt differently.. Like how people have been choosing the spelling Lunah to make Luna more unique... That's how I'd see it anyway.

And if you went with Arianna I wouldn't think you were naming a child after Ariana Grande.. Plus she only has one 'n' if that helps.

Aria like Game of Thrones? Not a fan.

Skiaddicted · 02/10/2019 19:46

I love the name Aria, the only reason personally i wouldnt use it is game of thones! Although its unlikely by the time shes a teen it will be known about!

Beautiful name

itwasalovelydreamwhileitlasted · 02/10/2019 20:05

Its too closely associated with Game of Thrones now - I wouldn't choose it

Names associated with tv programmes/films tend to date really quickly

I also can't imagine a grown woman being called Aria - names should be something that isn't affected by age. Aria is cute on a little girl - a middle aged woman no so much and might sound silly

Aria is lovely, it's have been a top contender of mine if I wasn't in Australia (Aria is a famous music chart programme here). I know what you mean about it not feeling like a full name though. I think it's five to go for Arianna and nickname her Aria all the time. I have a friend who had 3 kids, all of them are only really known by their nicknames, but have a 'full' name on the birth cert. I think that's great as it gives them some versatility with their name as they get older.
