If we were having a boy, we already decided name would be Damon. We recently found out we are having a little girl an we have no idea where to even start, so far I like Emily.... but please comment any names similar or unusual to help give us ideas!

Elodie

But I really like your suggestion of Emily, anyway!

nicannie · 02/10/2019 11:07

@NoSauce I also feel Emily is boring and dated!! Hence the reach out for other suggestions, thank you for the above. Alice is quite nice and would match second name.

We just have to remember that our babies have to carry this name all their lives so imagine what a teenager would make of a name you have chosen.

Clemmie and Emmie are so wet and sickly. Sorry but I can’t stand them. I like Clementine though.

I'm a Spanish speaker and my husband is Irish. We're thinking Isabella, Delfina, Marina, Cora/Coraline. I love Maite and Minerva but my husband has vetoed them.

Spied · 03/10/2019 17:24

Love Alice

nicannie · 04/10/2019 11:48

@BowiesJumper - love Emelia

@abigailsnan - I agree about the teenager part lol, I also agree that Alice is nice!

@Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav - Eliza was funnily enough on the list as well as Emily for us, such a nice name!

@MissHenty - glad you also like Emily. We have our best friends dog who is called Emmie unfortunately lol and also my middle name is Margaret and when people found out I would always get 'Margaret' shouted at me in a weird voice, I would be afraid it would be worse for my girl with it as her first name if you get me

@Shelby30 - love that you changed it a bit to Emilia, that's a lovely name! Might shortlist it from your suggestion!

@Awwlookatmybabyspider funnily enough Amelie has also played on my mind, a girl I used to work with had a little girl called Amelie and I used to mention how much I loved that name!

@Jellycat00 thank you - ps Ruby is another I've always thought about before falling pregnant for a little girl..

@Charlesandfred and I bet you don't feel the name is dated, I still think this is one of the front runners for name.

@BoonDog82 love Cora, quite cute for a little girl. Marina is also quite unusual and pretty!

@Spied another vote for Alice - it is a pretty name!

Honestly Emily is a great name.....I'd go with it.

MrsBertBibby · 04/10/2019 21:47

Emily is pretty well worn, but it's better than Alice!
