Heidi Beth’s sister

Already have a 3 year old DD called Heidi Beth surname.
I adore her name and need suggestions for DD2 who is due 1st Nov!
On my list last pregnancy was:
Hazel (still love but not sure about matching initial names)
Mila
Mabel

I like pretty, classic ish, not overused names, but not too keen on ‘old lady’ names like Edith.

Thanks :)

Mabel

MrsBertBibby · 29/09/2019 22:23

Nina.

Mabel is as little old lady a name as jou can get! Edith is far nicer. Hazel sounds daft with Heidi. Mila is getting very overused.

Lettucecrunch · 29/09/2019 22:25

Yes I love Hazel but that is my concern. Mabel is the only old lady name I like!

Mabel is an 'old lady' name though! Hazel is lovely, it's on our list if we have a daughter. How about Beatrix or Lydia?

Heidi Beth sounds like a nice combination from classic children's literature so how about a selection from Anne, Diana, Katy, Clover, Elsie, Sara, Roberta, Phyllis, Anthea, Jane, Margaret, Josephine, Amy ... I'm sure there's more on this theme.

(Not Elsie though, that's old ladyish)

AverageMummy · 30/09/2019 07:03

I think Mabel is far more old lady than Edith - could be just to my ears I guess

AverageMummy · 30/09/2019 07:04

Suggestions:
Dulcie
Lyra
Beatrix
Verity

Clara would definitely work, but if you're planning on #3 in the future you might struggle to continue the theme, unless you like "Dete"...?

I love Clara but DH isn't keen. If I was using it, I think I'd pair it with 'Effie' as a middle name.

MILHouse · 30/09/2019 09:11

I think Sarah is due a comeback.

Rosere · 30/09/2019 09:19

Sarah is lovely
Helen
Mary
Jane
Lucy
Anna
Rose
Or a combo of any of those
I think they are more classic than old fashioned.
What old fashioned names I do like tho are Ruby, Emerald and Pearl. I've had some very cute little old lady patients over the years. I am partial to a precious gem name😊

How about Emmie/Emmy

Clara is Heidi's best friend in the novel. I think the names go well together.
