We're few weeks away from having a little boy Smile Already have two girls and found choosing their names quite easy but can't quite settle on a boys name. What are your thoughts on our current shortlist?!

Maximilian (Max)
Theodore (Theo/Ted)
Felix
Henry
Barnaby
Frederick (Freddie)
Stanley
Hugo

Felix!

FoggyDay58 · 27/09/2019 19:19

All lovely, you can't go wrong. Hope he arrives in a safe and timely fashion!

userabcname · 27/09/2019 19:19

Really like Max, Felix and Barnaby.

Felix

Maximilian (Max) - I really like Maximilian. It sounds so handsome Nd strong. Not such a fan of Max but I get why it needs a shortening.

Theodore (Theo/Ted) - they are everywhere making it a bit dull

Felix - it's growing on me but I primarily think cats

Henry - love it but too popular for me

Barnaby - gorgeous name. My favourite on your list

Frederick (Freddie) - I like Frederick but not Freddie

Stanley - I like it but dislike Stan
Hugo - lovely name

Top 3 would be: Barnany, Hugo and Maximilian

Pippilsngstrumpfi · 27/09/2019 23:02

Love Barnaby!

Max, Theo, Henry are overused and dull.

Jossina · 27/09/2019 23:17

Felix and Barnaby would be my top choices but all of them are great.

MrsBertBibby · 28/09/2019 07:38

Frederick, hands down. Great name.

Barnaby is really wet and whiny.

Others in your list are nice but very very overused.

Astronica · 28/09/2019 08:59

All good names. My favourites are Maximilian/Max, Felix and Hugo. But really I like them all.

user1493494961 · 28/09/2019 09:29

Barnaby or Max.

MissHenty · 28/09/2019 11:06

Love all

Especially Felix and Barnaby

Thehbomb · 28/09/2019 22:55

VenusClapTrap · 29/09/2019 10:13

Hugo

MissHenty · 29/09/2019 12:35

Yeh Hugo really nice too

What you thinking at the moment @Bytheseamummy

Spied · 29/09/2019 12:37

Max
Really not Barnaby or Felix

Lavenderblues · 29/09/2019 12:49

I like Barney and Frederick.

Max and Theo are very/too popular.

TildaTurnip · 29/09/2019 13:01

All lovely except Stanley which I think is awful.

My favourites are Max and Felix

TildaTurnip · 29/09/2019 13:04

Max is only 31st on ONS list so fewer than 0.3% of babies were named that last year.

Bytheseamummy · 29/09/2019 13:42

Thanks for all the thoughts Smile I think at the moment we're leaning towards Maximilian/Max. It sounds good with our surname and I loved the comment in another thread that it sounds like a 40's film star! Grin He would be Max day to day. I know it's reasonably popular but don't think there are too many that it would bother me. The only thing that is putting me off slightly is it would mean he would have the same initials including middle name as one of his sister's. Probably a non-issue though.

This must be the first baby name thread where I’ve really liked all the suggestions. You have great taste.

Bytheseamummy · 29/09/2019 18:23

Thank you Chocolatecake12 Smile
