Name for our son

Hi. We can't decide between:
1.Charlie Laurence or
2.Ryan Anthony

Option 1 would be after both our uncles and includes the feminine form of my name.
Option 2 we like the meaning of, and also would be sharing the same middle name as my brother.

Not sure how much the meaning of a name should influence over say, family connection. Opinions appreciated.

i love ryan anthony. both names have family connections so i think it comes down to what you prefer really x

Dirtyjellycat · 27/09/2019 17:37

Charlie Laurence gets my vote. It’s a lovely combination.

KellyHall · 27/09/2019 17:38

Why don't you wait until he's born and decide? People used to decide based on whether the baby looked like one name or another...

PotteringAlong · 27/09/2019 17:40

Charlie Laurence

Babybrain26 · 27/09/2019 17:51

Thanks for your opinions so far. Kelly hall, we probably will end up doing that as we're both quite indecisive at the moment! Also my friend suggested that too...its such a major thing!

Charlie. I don’t like the name Ryan.

userabcname · 27/09/2019 18:06

I prefer Ryan Anthony. There are absolutely tons of little Charlies so while I do like the name, I'm finding it quite over-used at the moment. I do like Laurence as a first name though if that's an option?

MrsDimmond · 27/09/2019 18:07

Sorry, I know its not one of your options but have you considered Laurence Anthony? I'm not a fan of either Charlie or Ryan but I think the middle names sound great together.
A friend's son is Laurence, known as Laurie.

user1493494961 · 27/09/2019 18:14

Laurence is lovely, Charlie OK, Ryan a bit 'C' word.

Babybrain26 · 27/09/2019 18:17

Katniss k, I know that had crossed my mind too. Mrs Drimmond, laurence as a first name isnt out of the question, but I just didnt want to seem self righteous if you know what I mean as I'm laura, maybe I'm thinking about it too much though...

I dont think it would be seen as being self centred or anything Babybrain.

Shadow1234 · 27/09/2019 18:23

Charlie Laurence (but prefer Lawrence spelt this way)

Babybrain26 · 27/09/2019 18:35

Glad you think that mrs dimmond, I do often worry about silly things like that.

Laurence Anthony, perhaps?

Jossina · 28/09/2019 06:34

Charles Laurence, or use Laurence as a first name.

daisypond · 28/09/2019 06:53

I much prefer the middle names. So Laurence Anthony or Anthony Laurence.

AverageMummy · 28/09/2019 07:09

Laurence is lovely
Charlie is ok
Ryan is horrible sorry

userabcname · 28/09/2019 07:22

Yes if Laurence is on the table then I think Laurence Anthony is lovely (and I don't think it's odd with your name at all!).

youarenotkiddingme · 28/09/2019 07:26

I actually prefer Charles Anthony (Charlie)

Pippilsngstrumpfi · 28/09/2019 07:38

I don't like Charlie or Ryan, sorry

I much prefer Anthony or Lawrence.

Astronica · 28/09/2019 09:01

I much prefer Charlie Laurence. I find Ryan quite dated and dull.

user1493494961 · 28/09/2019 09:26

If you're Laura, you could spell it Lawrence (prefer this spelling).

MissHenty · 28/09/2019 11:05

Love the name Charlie ❤️

123Dancewithme · 28/09/2019 12:18

Laurence Anthony if that’s an option. Or Anthony Laurence or maybe Anton Laurence

PrincessLouis · 28/09/2019 19:32

Charles Anthony (Charlie) is great. Definitely not Ryan. Laurence is ok but the Laura thing would put me off. Good luck!
