Thoughts on this name? Or should I just go for Alana x

Is Alani an actual name?

2frenchies · 22/09/2019 10:22

Yes it is Hawaiian I think.
It doesn’t get the red squiggle underneath either

Just looked it up and is hawaiian for orange. Apparently its only recently been used as a name.

Lani is definitely a 'proper' Hawaiian name, a diminuitive of Kailani I believe.

I would go with Alana personally.

Alani gets a red line under for me. I'd go for Alana and you could always use Alani as a nickname.

I love it! Normally I dont like names that are potentially made up but it is a nice cross between Alana and Lani.

Pixilicious · 22/09/2019 12:13

Sounds like you want to make a girls version of Alan. Not a fan.

OverthinkingThis · 22/09/2019 12:14

I quite like it OP. Also have you considered Leilani?

user1493494961 · 22/09/2019 12:19

Well, if you must, I would go with Alana.

ojo821 · 22/09/2019 12:27

I do like it but then again I like most names ending in -ani.

fanniboz · 22/09/2019 12:29

I like it, I think it's cute for a little one and can grow with her as she ages. I can picture a baby, toddler, child, teenager, adult and old person named Alani. Alana is also very nice imo

This is exactly what I thought. I wouldn't. Alana is better.
