Which name for our little boy? Last name is one syllable.

I vote for Thomas

LuciferTheCat · 21/09/2019 13:15

so when he’s older he’s either going to be Josh or Tom. I just find them so bland and overused

Marcipex · 21/09/2019 13:17

Tom is nicer than Josh , which I do think is a bit wet sounding.

CarysRed · 21/09/2019 14:17

I don’t mind Josh or Tom @LuciferTheCat so which is your favourite of the two?

GU24Mum · 21/09/2019 15:16

I like Tom/Thomas but am not a fan of Josh.

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 21/09/2019 15:20

Thomas/ Tom.
Lovely name. ( think Tom is very cool )

tommyshaircut · 21/09/2019 15:24

I prefer Josh, but I have one so I'm biased ! Lots of Toms in our family, a couple known as Tommy.

Marlena1 · 21/09/2019 15:25

Love Josh, although can be a bit of a tongue tie, "Josh's toys"... Tom is a good strong name.

Slappadabass · 21/09/2019 15:26

Joshua, My older brother is Josh, it suited him as a kid and it suits him as a adult.
Thomas/Tom is way too over used.

Valkarie · 21/09/2019 15:28

Thomas is a great name

dirtyrottenscoundrel · 21/09/2019 15:28

I must add I like Josh too, but if I had to pick one I’d go for Tom.

CarysRed · 21/09/2019 15:48

I think he will be Thomas, Joshua as a middle name

SmoothLawAbider · 21/09/2019 15:51

I like both but prefer Thomas/Tom.

daisypond · 21/09/2019 15:52

Much prefer Thomas.

123Dancewithme · 21/09/2019 20:41

Thomas

YouJustDoYou · 21/09/2019 20:42

I know about seven thomass, and 3 Joshuas. Both very common names.

Hopesorfears · 21/09/2019 20:43

Classic though

Dobinette · 21/09/2019 20:44

I prefer Thomas also

CarysRed · 21/09/2019 20:47

@YouJustDoYou I’m not bothered about how common they are

TimeToGetMeBack · 21/09/2019 20:50

I have a Joshua Thomas

trotesio · 21/09/2019 21:09

Thomas, definitely.

In my experience, Joshua is a 'naughty boy' name.

aibutohavethisusername · 21/09/2019 21:13

Joshua

PinkCrayon · 21/09/2019 21:19

Thomas is a lovely name. Also great as Tom. Far nicer than Joshua/Josh imo.

PoppleSausage · 21/09/2019 21:21

I have one of each! We haven't found them to be very common at all either no matter what the top name lists say. Why not wait until you meet your baby and see which suits him the best?

Joeybee · 21/09/2019 21:31

Like them both. Joshua is great because of Josh as a non, which is just gorgeous. Joshua is quite popular though.
Thomas is less popular, there's the Thomas the Tank Engine connection, which I think a little boy would love...but Thomas/Tom is less fun and interesting a name than Joshua.
