Boy/girl twins. What goes with....

Max.

We thought we had two girls. So had kind of matchy style names (Camille and Claudia) in the pipeline.

Neither of those is the girls' name I love, but I kind of didn't mind because there were two, so it wouldn't be like one had my favourite name over the other. I like both the names, but no more than like.

Now it's turned out they're definitely boy/girl. So the boy will be Max. And I can't think of anything I like other than the name I can't have, now it's only one girls name I need. (It's been what my daughter has always been called in my head for the last 20yrs, and literally a year ago, this bitch who's connected directly to our family stole it, and yes I am fucking bitter) Spam me with names that go with Max please. Help me find something I love...

Honor is a really lovely name, very smart. Max and Eva go really well together.

MsJuniper · 21/09/2019 17:34

I was about to suggest Vita (or Victoria with nn Vita) and a pp has had the same idea. Also like Clio (Cl-eye-o like the muse). My tastes are quite classical.

I also like Max and Honor.

Not keen on Phillipa but that's personal taste.

Fivebeanchilli · 21/09/2019 17:39

I like Honor and Philippa NN Pippa/Pip.
I still prefer Max and Anya though.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 21/09/2019 18:02

Max and Philipa pippa is a great nickname!!!
Or Angelina but with lina as nickname otherwise it would get shortened to ange

nuckyscarnation · 21/09/2019 20:23

I agree with @stellavisionandunderstanding It makes no difference whether twins are identical or none identical, they are still two totally desperate people in their own right! TAMBA also strongly advise against giving twins matching names or even ones with the same initial!

nuckyscarnation · 21/09/2019 20:23

Separate obviously...

Booboostwo · 21/09/2019 20:23

If you like Camille, why not call her Camille nn Mimi - Max and Mimi.

I bet that woman will probably end up calling Evangeline 'Evie' and she'll just be one of many Evies..,,
(Not that Evie is a bad name but just trying to make you feel better OP)

twinkledag · 21/09/2019 21:22

OP is there a shortened version of the name you loved as a child that you could use?

kittlesticks · 21/09/2019 21:25

I have a Max. He is wonderful. So just zooming in on your boy's name, it's gorgeous. Recently had DD and gave her a longer name. Think they go well together. Based on your lists I think Honor is great if you can put up with people always spelling it wrong. A safer bet might be Verity. It sounds so brave and strong.

Change Camille to Camilla and use nn Millie.

NameChange30 · 21/09/2019 22:54

I don't know if this will help or not, but I had a name I loved but couldn't use, and in the end, I much prefer the name we chose. I'm sure it happens a lot - you love a name your whole life but your partner doesn't like it, or someone close to you uses it first, and it is VERY annoying but it honestly doesn't matter in the end. When you have your child you will realise that it's not about the name at all. You will love their name because it's theirs (sorry if that sounds cheesy or patronising... probably both Confused)

ANYWAY. I love your brief (girly, French, Russian) and I think we have similar taste, too. I love Max for a boy (I'd use Maxim as the full name which is of course popular in France and Russia Smile)

It's a shame about the "elle" sound because I think Adele would have been a good option.

How about
Amelie
Anais (I think this is beautiful although English speakers would struggle with the pronunciation sadly)
Anya
Aurora
Coralie
Emma
Eva
Ines / Inessa
Louise
Lucy
Lyra
Madeleine
(I was going to add Mara but you can't have Max and Mara Grin)
Natalie / Natalya
Nina

(I can't help wondering what the name was... Angeline?)
