And before anyone says it, I'm not suggesting that as a name! Been feeling really off lately...3 dcs youngest just over 6 months so went to GP. You guessed it. I'm pregnant again. I'm blaming a bout of food poisoning! Very very early days but lying in bed worrying about all sorts of daft things including how to tell DH he's getting the snip! He's thrilled btw.
Girls name already chosen (one we discarded last time) so I'm distracting myself by thinking of boys names. WDYT of
Daniel
Edwin
Patrick
Bram
Peter
Jacob?

All nice, apart from Bram which just looks sort of incomplete somehow.

Daniel is my favourite, if I'd had a fourth DS he'd have been Daniel I think.

devilishlygood · 19/09/2019 04:26

I LOVE the name Daniel.

All the others on your list pale into insignificance. Particularly, Peter and Edwin are just slightly wet sounding (I know men with these names and they’re wet kinda guys!)

Agree that Bram sounds a bit incomplete, maybe even a bit industrial.

Patrick is fine, but a bit insipid and Jacob, for me, has been done to death. I hear ‘Jake, Jakey...Jayyyyyy....’ everywhere I go these days!! 😂 Although it’s a perfectly good name.

BoomZahramay · 19/09/2019 04:43

Daniel and Bram, short for Abraham, are my faves.

daisypond · 19/09/2019 06:12

They’re all nice. Possibly not Jacob, because Jake is popular, but I do like Jake. Bram always looks a bit odd to me, too. Peter or Daniel would be my choice.

Gatepost1820 · 19/09/2019 06:24

Abraham nn Bram

BethanyGilbert · 19/09/2019 06:27

Another one for Daniel.

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 19/09/2019 06:35

I LOVE Edwin, Patrick and Bram - all we’re on my list for DC3.

I’d shorten Edwin to Ned as a nn and I’d probably use a longer form for Bram on the birth certificate - Abraham? Bramwell?

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 19/09/2019 06:37

*were.

(Eagerly awaits the day Mumsnet HQ decides we’re worthy of an ‘edit post’ function)

Petrichor11 · 19/09/2019 09:52

Daniel is my favourite from your list, then Jacob

MissHenty · 19/09/2019 10:10

Love Daniel and Jacob and Patrick

bridgetreilly · 19/09/2019 10:28

I love Edwin. Also Edgar.

whatausername · 19/09/2019 10:28

"DH, I've booked you a vasectomy. My body is going through its 2nd pregnancy in less than a year, you can handle a small routine op."

Sorted! Grin Now, names. Daniel is lovely, not keen on Jake/Jacob and only like Patrick as a full name. Pat, Paddy and Rick are not pleasant to my ears. Edwin is fab and I really like Peter. Think it's going to end up the new MN favourite soon. Bram is uninteresting to me.

Frith2013 · 19/09/2019 10:31

Daniel
Edwin - like it
Patrick - middle aged plumber
Bram - it’s short for Abraham. Just makes me think of Dracula.
Peter - surely the world’s most boring name.
Jacob? - ok

missmouse101 · 19/09/2019 10:31

Edwin

MikeUniformMike · 19/09/2019 10:38

not Bram.
Peter and then Edwin are my faves.

userabcname · 19/09/2019 10:45

Oooh I really like Bram (short for Abraham which I also like).
Also like Edwin and Jacob.
Not keen on Patrick.
Peter is nice although I don't love it.
Not keen on Daniel either.
Congrats OP!

Tillygetsit · 19/09/2019 22:45

Thank you ladies. Mixed reviews! DH has vetoed Patrick Edwin Bram. Jacob was his choice but I wasnt keen as eldest is Joseph. Abraham is lovely but unwittingly all my dcs have biblical names and whilst I like more mainstream ones Abraham is a bit too far!
Any suggestions?

Patrick, Peter and Jacob all really nice, don't like Bram. Maybe Edward, Henry, Alexander, Matthew, Caleb, Gabriel, Samuel.

Hecateh · 19/09/2019 23:01

My nephew is Edmund - and always been known as Ned. May be another option if Edwin doesn't suit

LarkDescending · 19/09/2019 23:02

I like Peter best.

Maybe Robert?

LarkDescending · 19/09/2019 23:04

...or David?

Tillygetsit · 21/09/2019 00:05

Ha ha you've mentioned my brother 2 of dh uncles and 2 nephews! As I'm only just pregnant maybe I should mull it over for a few weeks. Joseph will not be happy if I produce another girl though!
