What’s everyone’s opinions? I love it, not sure how I feel about Zach because it sounds like ‘sack’ but I’m sure I could get past that. Wdyt?

Like you, I like Zachary.

But Zack/Zak sounds like sack and almost comical to my ears.

Grufallosfriends · 18/09/2019 14:43

I dislike Zach too - it sounds like a sound from a comic book. Its not s very nice sound.

Zachary is ok.

myloveforfrazzles · 18/09/2019 14:45

I’ve got loads of other choices but we both really love Zachary. I’m hoping I can do what my parents did with me and insist that he’s called Zachary and not Zach

I really like Zachary. Zach/Zac isn't awful by any means.

joystir59 · 18/09/2019 14:56

Zachary/Zachariah both lovely names. Prefer Zachariah.

17caterpillars1mouse · 18/09/2019 14:56

I really like Zachary. Zach is nice but I prefer the longer name

myloveforfrazzles · 18/09/2019 14:59

I think we might go with it!

If you don't like Zach, I'd avoid Zachary. It would be very difficult to avoid imo, especially by others.

Morado · 18/09/2019 15:11

My friend has a little Zachary and he never gets Zach! I wouldn't dream of calling him Zach... He wouldn't suit it!

myloveforfrazzles · 18/09/2019 15:13

Ooh that’s good to hear @Morado

Love Zachary/ Zachariah

(and any of their diminutives, for that matter!).

Heard 'Zaki' (pron ZAK-ee)' as a shortener for a 3 yr old (Greek Cypriot heritage) Zachary recently, which I liked as an alternative.

myloveforfrazzles · 18/09/2019 15:25

I like Zaki!

OP posts:
roisinagusniamh · 18/09/2019 15:26

It's very popular. He may end up having several Zach/ Zacharys in his class.

Grufallosfriends · 18/09/2019 15:36

Zaki sounds like the Japanese wine.. Saki. I don't think it's a nice name for a boy, sorry.

myloveforfrazzles · 18/09/2019 15:49

I’m not bothered about popularity. And Zaki would only be a nickname

Oh wow I’d never thought of Zaki! What a lovely nn! I really like the full name too OP

Going to see if I can guess your name @myloveforfrazzles - is it Victoria?Natasha?Natalie?

Chirpychirpy3 · 18/09/2019 16:08

I really like it

myloveforfrazzles · 18/09/2019 16:11

@MissHenty no where near. I’ll give you one clue, it starts with K

AllFourOfThem · 18/09/2019 16:11

Zachary is a lovely name and Zaki is a cute nickname. I think Zac/Zach is more likely to be misheard for Jack than sack.

MissHenty · 18/09/2019 16:17

@myloveforfrazzles Katherine, Kimberly, Katrina/Katriona ?

myloveforfrazzles · 18/09/2019 16:25
