Scandinavian theme...

Saga?

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
steppemum · 17/09/2019 15:21

as in Saga holidays for the over 50s?
Sorry, no

TheLetterOfTheLawTheLetter · 17/09/2019 15:25

Hah, perhaps that has put an end to that one. Such a shame when foreign names have been taken on by a brand, kind of ruins it!

Killed off in a single response. 😂😂😂
How about Sega? 😉

Sexnotgender · 17/09/2019 15:28

I immediately thought holidays too. SorryBlush

LE1991 · 17/09/2019 15:35

what about Sengagh instead?

HeyMicky · 17/09/2019 15:36

Sigrid NN Siggy?

TheLetterOfTheLawTheLetter · 17/09/2019 15:39

This is why I posted here!

I'm not tied to a name that sounds like saga. Just so back and forth! I must admit I have posted on this topic a few times.

Current front runners

Sofie
Malin
Freja
Emma

Or

Ebba
Else
Maja
Ella Confused

I'd cross off Malin (as it's best known here as a shipping area) and Else (as it's a common vocab word in English, and hard to carry off in anglophone countries)

I don't like Ebba, but all the others are fine

Sexnotgender · 17/09/2019 16:44

Ebba sounds like someone with a heavy cold saying Emma.

Freja is nice but I’d probably spell it Freya.

KronksSpinachPuffs · 17/09/2019 19:05

Sofie and Freja are both lovely! I love Sofia too

Clettercletterthatsbetter · 18/09/2019 05:49

I love Malin, Freyja and Else. What about:

Elke
Silke
Linnea

CampfireZen · 18/09/2019 06:56

Freja is great!

What about Astrid?
("beautiful Goddess")

NoSauce · 18/09/2019 07:40

I love Saga but only because of The Bridge. It was pronounced sayga on there.

Love Malin too.

BikeRunSki · 18/09/2019 07:47

I love Malin. I know a child with this name, because this is where his dad used to sail. There may be pronounciation confusion though. The shipping area is pronounced Mah-lin, the area of Sheffield is pronounced May-lin, but both are spelt Malin.

FizzyGreenWater · 18/09/2019 11:34

Freya is pretty overused now - I think it will date really badly.

I love Scandinavian names though and would also suggest Sigrid - it's so classy.

Also like Malin, Silke and Linnea

Anouk?

HamiltonBentley · 18/09/2019 15:10

Malin is by far my favourite Scandi girls name.

I do also like Emma from your list. I agree Else doesn't really work in English - if you can get past the Frozen associations, would Elsa work instead?

Malin is beautiful.

Frith2013 · 18/09/2019 20:05

My mum found one of their holidays really boring

I like Silke.
