... Is the barbarian link just too strong? I think it's a great name but I worry that people will just associate it with Conan the Barbarian (I actually don't even know who it is but I have heard of him, obviously).
Boy names are so difficult!!

I'm in Ireland and I know a couple. They don't get teased as far as I know, but then it's an Irish name so seems normal here. I quite like it.

I think the barbarian thing will only be the older generation. I love it personally.

well, it's my first thought but then it was a big film for my generation! Whether your son's generation will know or care is another matter.

I do like it as a name.

I think the trouble is, as CherryBlossoms says, it does just trip straight off the tongue so even if people haven't seen the film, it's almost just a well known phrase IYKWIM.
I do really like it though, just don't know if I'm brave enough...
