Name suggestions

Hi everyone, due in April next year, so still a long time to go, but just thinking of names at the moment. Girls names seem much easier... So far thinking of
Hannah
Camilla
Rebecca
Jasmin (likely as middle name.. Not first)

Names I like but have been vetoed
Cassandra
Helena
Nina
Rachel

I have vetoed husbands choice of Rosie

Anybody have any inspiration from those names? I have a Delilah already and although I do love Hannah, I'm wondering is it too popular and also, is it a bit dowdy seeming, when compared to Delilah.

Boys names are much harder. Husband is from an Arabic background and western/Arab boys names seem harder to find than girls names. So far we have
Noah (which seems too popular husband likes a lot)
And Kamran

We can't have
Adam
Zain
Sami

Husband keeps joking with me suggesting convuluted Arabic names and vetoing all my fave names like
Alexander
Nicholas
Milo

Love milo Noah and Adam

I think Hannah sounds nice with Delilah

nineyearsapart · 09/09/2019 14:01

Thanks MissHenty, we won't use Adam, but good to know Hannah and Delilah sound nice together.

I actually disagree that Delilah and Hannah go well together - I think you’re right that Hannah sounds a bit dull and plain in comparison. I think I’d feel a bit sorry for Hannah as while there’s nothing wrong with the name, it seems a little dated and boring in comparison with Delilah which I think is delicate and beautiful. I would paid Delilah with something similarly pretty - what about

Eleanor
Rosalie
Genevieve
Tabitha
Imogen

As for boy names, what about Rafe? I think that works in both cultures?

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 09/09/2019 16:11

Rebecca Jasmine is gorgeous. Quite refreshing now as well

nineyearsapart · 09/09/2019 17:01

Thanks for the replies ladies. Hannah is a classic and beautiful name, but I agree perhaps because Delilah is unusual, it does have a more special vibe....but I still do love Hannah.

I know my husband would veto Tabitha as I mentioned it before and I think the other names wouldnt work too well as a crossover name.

Thanks babyspider, I'm glad you think the name sound nice together... I think Jasmine seems it's a good middle name in general... Seems to go with alot of names.

I like Malik for a boy and Tariq

bridgetreilly · 09/09/2019 20:22

Camilla Jasmine

For a boy, how about Iskandar?

Pcosmama · 09/09/2019 20:27

What about Helena for a girl? I think it had a similar feel to Hannah but is a little more in the league of Delilah IYSWIM?

Shadow1234 · 09/09/2019 23:22

Verity (not too popular and goes well with Delilah

Icantthinkofanynewnames · 10/09/2019 05:46

Zara?

Icantthinkofanynewnames · 10/09/2019 05:48

I also think Camilla Jasmine is a nice choice.

AverageMummy · 10/09/2019 07:23

Hannah and Camilla are both beautiful

BlueChampagne · 10/09/2019 12:56

Vashti if you want another biblical 'bad girl'

How about Haroun for a boy?

ukel · 11/09/2019 18:42

I love Camilla and Hannah. Apart from that, I think you may like the name Freya. I adore it and it has links back to a Norse Goddess, Freya the Goddess Of Love.
