Which boy name would you choose?

We’re not finding out whether we’re having a boy or a girl, but much closer on deciding a girl name. Which of these names do you prefer for a boy (and please say if you think any of them are particularly common at the moment).

Hector
Magnus
Quentin
Silas

I really like them all - probably Magnus then Hector as first/second choices. Silas is a great name but I do think "Marner" and Uncle as in Quentin. Nothing wrong with those either though.

Love Quentin - strong, classic and Q is a cool initial. Could shorten to Quinn.

The meaning of hectoring and the potential nickname Heck put me off Hector.

Magnus is nice, but nickname Mag or Maggy maybe not?

Silas could be mispronounced- Seelas vs Sye las?

How do you pronounce Silas? I read it as. Sil Eye ass which I liked but then realised there sent a second I.

I love Magnus. Hector is fine too. All usable names though. I don't think any of them are particularly popular.

Quentin and hector.depends on the rest of the name and the other names in the family too an extent in my opinion a bit though.

They're all great classic solid normal names, none of which are trendy/overused imo.

My favourite is Quentin. I also really like Hector although the meaning would probably put me off.

Hector and Magnus are really nice. They sound solid and friendly. Magnus is like especially.

Quentin sounds prissy to me.

Silas for some reason gives me a horrible feeling. Like it's the name of an evil sinister baddie in a book or something. Maybe it's all the S sounds, like a snake. I don't know. It makes me think of murderers 😳 sorry!

I think I would choose Linus as an alternative to Magnus and Silas.
