Which boy name would you choose?

We’re not finding out whether we’re having a boy or a girl, but much closer on deciding a girl name. Which of these names do you prefer for a boy (and please say if you think any of them are particularly common at the moment).

Hector
Magnus
Quentin
Silas

Silas or Quentin

Silas

Not a massive fan of any of them but Hector if you held a gun to my head.

My brother's cat is called Hector.
Silas is too Dickensian for words.
Quentin is just ghastly.

I like Magnus, though. That works. Go for that.

Magnus

Hector - my favourite character from the Iliad.

Are you seriously thinking about giving a poor child one of those names? It will spend it's life being beaten up!

I don’t like any of them but I know a one year old called Magnus & a 60 year old Quentin

Any but Magnus, don't like it at all.

Magnus, Hector, not a fan of the other two

Jaguar, my 12 year old nephew is called Quentin and his friends haven't ever beaten him up

Magnus. I always imagine a clever, witty and slightly dishevelled boy when I hear this name.

MARYANNAY, That's because he told them he's called Michael.

I know one Hector and none of the other names. I know a few with Magnus as the middle name

Magnus is my favourite, Quentin my least favourite by far

Hector - Sounds like a name you give a Dog.
Magnus - O.k. if you live in Denmark.
Quentin - As in Quentin Crisp!
Silas - Sounds like a cleaning product for drains.

None of them are to my taste but if I had to choose I think I'd go for Silas

My favourite is Magnus

Silas just reminds me of silage.

Hector. Excellent name

I like Quentin. There's one in my son's class (aged 7) and the name has grown on me. It also reminds me of the lovely illustrator Quentin Blake.

I don't like Silas or Hector. Magnus is ok.
