We're pretty much settled on Constantine, but am interested to see if a dark horse emerges that we've not thought of...

We also like Alexander, Nicholas and Theodore- hopefully that gives a sense of the style we're going for!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Are you Greek?
They are all Greek Royal family names.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 04/09/2019 10:26

Ex King Constantine of Greece’s nickname in the family is Tiny.

Goostacean · 04/09/2019 10:28

Haha, we're not Greek, no! Although the name needs to work in multiple languages, which Greek names are often good for, I suppose!

in Germany I was at a baby group and a woman brought her baby and toddler called Constantine. he was a boy. I think it's nice and unusual.

StoatofDisarray · 04/09/2019 10:45

I like Constantine!

Pinkstulips · 04/09/2019 10:48

The German boy was probably Konstantin!

I like it.

ThatCurlyGirl · 04/09/2019 10:50

Makes me think of Killing Eve! Not in a good or bad way though just neutral.

icontrolthebullshitnow · 04/09/2019 10:51

Its a name I considered for my son but spelt Constantijn

Goostacean · 04/09/2019 11:35

Thanks, we like it too :) I was just wondering if anyone who had shortlisted it would mind sharing the rest of their shortlist, for example?

BroomstickOfLove · 04/09/2019 11:44

Constantine was on my shortlist for DS and his middle name is Alexander. The name I wish I'd actually called him is Clovis. Other names on the shortlist were Hugo, Caspar, Sebastian, Patrick and Quentin, I think. He's 10, so it was a long time ago.

CurlyWurlyTwirly · 04/09/2019 12:23

Caspian, Lysander

violetteskies · 04/09/2019 12:35

Pinkstulips · 04/09/2019 12:41

Similar names that I like include
Theodore (although very popular now)
Quentin
Caspar
Thaddeus
Magnus

Goostacean · 04/09/2019 13:36

Thanks, some nice suggestions! None yet that beat it for us, I think...

No worries - no name will suit everyone's tastes!

Goostacean · 04/09/2019 16:17

Leonidas and Valentine were there, but Leo is too popular for me and Valentine sounds very feminine to me in English? Some great suggestions, thank you everyone!
