Elise or Alice?

We are leaning towards Elise which we both love but I wonder if it's too unusual and we would be better off going for a more classic name like Alice, which we also like very much.

We have one DD already who is Clara Louise.

Which would you go for, Alice or Elise?

Alice, it's very classy and goes nicely with Clara.

Alice

Alice

Alice

Elise isn't that unusual ime but I always think of it as a French name, not that that should put you off.

Alice

A perfect name IMO

MissHenty · 02/09/2019 20:53

Atlasta · 02/09/2019 20:53

Alice.Beautiful.

JennyAuker · 02/09/2019 20:55

Alice, classier 👍

tedladybird · 02/09/2019 20:55

Thing is we ruled out Sophia on the basis that it was too popular so in a way it seems a bit silly to go for Alice - not top of the list like Sophia/Sofia but it's up there.

I do really like it though. I love both really!

Alice. Elise is a bit weird with Clara Louise. I may also be biased - glances at grown up (ish) on sofa wrapped in a yard of blonde hair, that suits a head band and looks just like my grandma Grin

Retroraver93 · 02/09/2019 20:58

I really like Elise and it goes well with her sister's name Clara.

Bluewavescrashing · 02/09/2019 20:59

Alice and Clara are gorgeous names, classic and beautiful.

riotlady · 02/09/2019 20:59

Alice

RachelEllenR · 02/09/2019 21:01

I prefer Alice though Elise is pretty too. I know a Clara and Alice pair of sisters and thought what lovely names they both have.

joystir59 · 02/09/2019 21:06

Elise. Why do the names of siblings have to go together?

MrsBertBibby · 02/09/2019 21:07

Elise. Alice is so prissy and prim.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 02/09/2019 21:08

Elise.

Meltedicicle · 02/09/2019 21:09

I love Elise, it’s beautiful. I do like Alice but the song put me off using it for my DDs.

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 02/09/2019 21:12

ELSIE!!!

CampfireZen · 02/09/2019 21:21

Elise is beautiful Smile
(and using 'Für Elise' as her special lullaby music would have extra significance!)

Uncommon name at the moment, perhaps, but definitely not "too unusual", no.

Know two: ages 60something and 3yrs.
Suits both perfectly.

tedladybird · 02/09/2019 21:26

@campfirezen yes I LOVE that Für Elise could be her lullaby song Smile

(DH is more a fan of the song by The Cure!!)

How about a variation on the two names you like - ALISE?
Giving you the "AL" instead of "EL" pronounciation at the start.

sawyersfishbiscuits · 02/09/2019 21:30

Elise is lovely! There are loads of Alices. Elise is classy and pretty. Alice is too, but just popular.

nomoredramarama · 02/09/2019 21:32

Elsie is nice. Probably just me being weird, but Elise sounds like a boys name. Like Ellis?

DramaAlpaca · 02/09/2019 21:32

Both beautiful names, I couldn't choose between them
