Got a little boy called Noah.

We have decided on Ruben if we have another boy (we prefer this spelling).

A little stuck on girls names. Whittled down to 3, which of these do you prefer and why?

  1. Matilda (Only concern is number of shortenings: Tilly, Mattie, Tilda)
  2. Caitlin (Seems to have reduced alot in popularity recently)
  3. Sofia (Prefer this spelling to Sophia, as its the Spanish spelling like Ruben. If we use Sofia, she would probably be Sofia Matilda)

Thanks.

I really like Caitlin.

Matilda by far.

aibutohavethisusername · 31/08/2019 19:41

Matilda

evilharpy · 31/08/2019 19:48

Sofia. Are you Spanish?

Sophronia · 31/08/2019 20:26

Matilda. Sophia is nice but I don’t like the f spelling. Caitlin is dated and I read somewhere that it dropped in popularity because of Caitlyn Jenner.

MrsGilly1 · 31/08/2019 22:38

I like both Matilda and Sofia x

PastTippingPoint · 31/08/2019 22:40

I love Caitlin!.
I've never been a fan of Matilda, and i think both this and Sophia are overused at the moment

MissHenty · 31/08/2019 23:53

Yeh I don’t like Caitlin as reminds me of Jenner but love love love the other 2

DramaAlpaca · 01/09/2019 00:00

I think Sofia goes best. Matilda would be my second choice. Caitlin is a bit of a style clash.

Catbrat · 01/09/2019 00:02

My youngest is a Reuben, and Matilda was our girls name!
I love Matilda, it's such a lovely name!

ABitOTT · 01/09/2019 01:45

Matilda or Sofia for me

diddlediddle · 01/09/2019 07:03

Sofia (Sophia) is in the top 10 girls names so I'd personally avoid that, especially when you mix in all the Sophies too. It's pretty just a bit dull and overdone.

Caitlin I just don't like.

That leaves Matilda! I think it's a lovely classic name and the shortenings Tilly and Tilda are sweet.

Noah and Sofia
