Boys name dilemma!

Hi all, just looking for some opinions please! We're having a boy 🙂 Very excited but we can't agree on names! Dh likes more unusual names and I seem to lean towards 'old man' names?!

Here are some we agree on that have made the list -

Joseph (or Joe)- my choice

Zach - both like this one, but I'm a bit worried it's 'too American' maybe??

Charlie - dh choice

William /Will (added purely because little one did a little kick when I read it out😂)

Any preferences?? Or can anyone add any suggestions? I think we'll go for something quite short, maybe a bit unusual but nothing too much, if that makes sense?!

Thanks! 🙂

I prefer Zac on your list and I only know of two young boys being called it.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 31/08/2019 10:43

I like all of your choices - Joe. Zac, Charlie and Will. Sound like a nice set of four brothers 😀.

I think you’ll easily find something you both like. Have you tried namedtogethet.com?

Joseph Zachary and William are all lovely
Not sure I could pick a fave

user1493494961 · 31/08/2019 11:32

Zach (Zachary) is my favourite, closely followed by Joseph.

TerribleCustomerCervix · 31/08/2019 11:35

Joe and Will are my favourites. Cute for a baby, cool for a younger man and sounds professional when he starts a job.

I’m massively biased though as my 5 month old is Will/ William!

MamaGee09 · 31/08/2019 11:38

zach is my favourite, we would have used it but it didn’t sound right with our surname.

I’m not a fan of Joseph or Charlie .
William is ok,

MarcieElizabeth · 31/08/2019 11:41

I really like William, and there’s so many nicknames he can have

sorrythisusernameistaken · 31/08/2019 11:44

Joseph/joe is my fave. Joel/Joey are nice too! I can't stand the name Will. Charlie's overused. Zach seems like just a harsh name.

How about Isaac- shortened to Zac?

Pippilangstrumpfi · 31/08/2019 14:02

I like Joseph and Zachary.

Dislike William as the one we know gets teased with Willy quite a bit (at primary school).

maryannay · 31/08/2019 14:17

Of your suggestions I only like Joseph.

Zac sounds like a comic sound to me and William has unfortunate nicknames (Willy but I also dislike Will as it's such a common verb... Will will come Grin)

MrsGilly1 · 31/08/2019 14:19

Charlie William Smile x

IsobelRae23 · 31/08/2019 14:28

I know a few Williams that have had problems with Willie in primary and dick and c**t in high school. I hate the name for this reason.

My many suggestions:-

Asher, Avery, Alister, Ashton, Alexander, Baxter, Barrie, Boris, Benjamin, Cole, Carter, Cassius, Cory, Cash, Connor, Callum, Cameron, David, Drew, Daniel, Evan, Emmet, Eden, Edwin, Erik, Ethan, Fabian, Fletcher, Finley, Felix, Gideon, Grayson, Horacio, Hector, Iestyn, Ivor, Joel, Jasper, Jude, Kyle, Klay, Lewis, Louis, Leighton, Lawrence, Lennon, Micah, Morgan, Matteo, Nate, Nathaniel, Nico, Oliver, Oskar, Percy, Paul, Quinn, Rafe, Ruben, Riley, Rupert, Reid, Samson, Seth, Saul, Sean, Samual, Sebastian, Tobias, Winston, Wilson, Watson, Xavier

NoSauce · 31/08/2019 14:28

Jospeh or William. Charlie is ok. Dislike Zach.

maryannay · 31/08/2019 14:41

The problem with William is that it literally begins with Willi!

userabcname · 31/08/2019 15:01

I like William and Zach best. I know so many boys called Joe and Charlie (I'm a teacher) which puts me off these two.

Shadow1234 · 31/08/2019 15:57

Zach or Charlie, not keen on others

Fivebyfive2 · 31/08/2019 19:27

Thanks all, I love how different everyone's taste is! I'm not due until Jan so got loads of time, will continue with the lists and see how we go 🙂

I love Will.

Tillygetsit · 01/09/2019 00:21

I have a Joseph so easy choice for me!

ABitOTT · 01/09/2019 01:56

When I was broody for a 3rd baby, he would have been a William nn Billy. So I shall say Will out of your list, but actually I prefer Joe.

Chocolatecake12 · 01/09/2019 09:26

All lovely names but Joseph is my favourite from your list. Joe as a nn is fab and imo it’s a name that suits all ages.

MrsBertBibby · 01/09/2019 09:26

Joseph. Fab name. Lots of fun with Giuseppe and Yozif variants. Joe is a great nick. Love it.

coastergirl · 01/09/2019 11:58

All really nice. I have a ten week old Zachary (Zach) and have had loads of compliments on his name. Plus we don't know any others. I really love Joseph too though.
