I heard a name today that I really like but can’t find it anywhere, it sounded like ‘eh-larn-ee’ I assume it’s spelt like alany/elani? Does anyone recognise it? Struggling to choose a girl name for baby due next week!

Frith2013 · 30/08/2019 17:03

Eleni?

Morado · 30/08/2019 18:02

Alani is a name. Could have been that?

IsobelRae23 · 30/08/2019 18:04

Leilani I was going to say too

ParmesanOfVirtue · 30/08/2019 18:07

Eleni?

TokenGinger · 30/08/2019 18:16

We have an Eleni in our office. It's a beautiful name.

It's pronounced more eh-len-ni

Marinetta · 30/08/2019 18:19

I knew a girl called Eleni. She was half greek, half turkish so I assume the name comes from one of those languages.

IHeartKingThistle · 30/08/2019 18:20

Eleni. The one I knew was pronounced Elainey and was Welsh.

HettyStThomas · 30/08/2019 18:21

Eleri? It's a welsh name. Said around here, SE Wales as Eh-layir-e, the middle bit is more like a dragon 'lair'.

FairfaxAikman · 30/08/2019 18:38

Eleri? It's pronounced Eh-lay-ree

NickMyLipple · 30/08/2019 18:43

Elara was on my shortlist for DD1 which is an actual name - not what you're looking for but I love it!

IckleBear · 31/08/2019 09:11

Elarni

Milsplus3 · 31/08/2019 09:41
