Ross, Fraser, Callum, or none of the above?

I'm trying to find a name that is a little less heard. What are your impressions of Ross, Fraser, and Callum? Would you choose any of these names to be paired with Arthur?

I like Fraser best of yours.

Innes Arthur?

Harris, Arne?

Shadow1234 · 29/08/2019 16:09

I know 3 Callums, and 1 Fraser, never met a Ross irl,
but Fraser is my favourite on your list - great name

Gingerkittykat · 29/08/2019 16:11

I like Ross and Fraser, neither of which is too common these days.

I dislike Calum mainly because the Calum I grew up with was a spoiled brat and bully. It also reminds me of Callum best.

Other Scottish names I like are Innes, Murray, lewis and Euan, but the latter is probably too popular.

I don't think any match very well with Arthur, but nobody really uses both names together very much.

Calum is totally wet. I have met one nice Calum and he is wet.

And as Francis Crawford said, Malcolm and Calum are not the same name at all. The same root for the names, but completely separate entities.

I don't like Malcolm, either - its also wet.

missmouse101 · 29/08/2019 17:13

Ross is the best!

AverageMummy · 29/08/2019 18:11

Fraser is nice

jaggynettle · 29/08/2019 18:32

Fab Scottish names 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 my nephew is called Innes - I love that name 😊

99bb · 29/08/2019 18:39

Fraser is lovely. Not with Arthur though

TheWashingMachine · 29/08/2019 18:50

Callum is a dreadful name, very wet like another pister said. Fraser or Ross ok.

Whoops75 · 29/08/2019 18:54

Love Ross (and Rory)

Callum is quite different to Arthur

Fraser is lovely too but think it’s a bit twee with Arthur.

GigiIdid · 29/08/2019 19:06

How about Cameron?

I like Fraser but not too keen on Callum.

What is Ross short for? Rossell or Rostopher?

LittleCandle · 29/08/2019 22:11

Ross isn't short for anything.

MadeForThis · 29/08/2019 22:25

Fraser
Love hamish
Harris is cool too

Middledistancerunner · 29/08/2019 22:28

I like Fraser and went to school with a very successful one.
Also went to school with a Ross, and a Calum.
Are you wanting to fit in with a lot of 40 year old central belters?
I like all these names, but they are a bit dated.

GigiIdid · 29/08/2019 22:30

Not a big Friends fan @LittleCandle Wink

Yani85 · 29/08/2019 22:33

Just Ross!
It's pretty....😂

LittleCandle · 30/08/2019 07:17

@Gigildid - I'd sooner watch paint dry than that pathetic show.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 30/08/2019 23:25

I have a 25 year old Callum

LittleCandle · 31/08/2019 07:02

I have a nephew called Calum, and I still think the name is wet.

Atlasta · 31/08/2019 07:08

Callum, although I don't like it with Arthur.
How about Owen Arthur

PurBal · 31/08/2019 07:24

Callum Arther flows nicely. But it's the most common of the bunch I reckon. I'd say Ross is also nice.
